Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/06/23) */ RE: Case # XXXXXXXX The confusion in this case is understandable. There are to TWO different, independent companies involved: 1) "Lake Medical Hearing CenterS, Inc." and 2) "Lamb Audiology LLC who does business as Lake Medical Hearing Center". Lamb Audiology LLC did not purchase the company "Lake Medical Hearing CenterS, Inc." or any of its shares. As a new business entity, "Lamb Audiology LLC dba Lake Medical Hearing Center" is not legally liable for contracts (written or verbal) paid to a different, independent company. As a courtesy to previous patients of "Lake Medical Hearing CenterS, Inc.", Lamb Audiology LLC is currently offering a free consultation appointment to review their hearing care and future charges. As a courtesy, the complainant's appointment on June 6th was provided at no charge and future charges were reviewed with her. Lamb Audiology LLC's policy of informing patients of future charges before scheduling their next appointment is in compliance with the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 which includes the "No Surprises Act" implemented January 1, 2022. Consumer Response /* (2000, 8, 2022/06/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am having trouble connecting the dots that Dr. **** has provided to me. She mentions that Alan and Linda retired to enjoy the grandchildren more. I believe most entrepreneurs will attempt to sell their business prior to retiring. Especially if they have a profitable business, with an established client base, and a name with good will. I am told that she did not purchase Lake Medical Hearing CenterS, and has established her own business as Lake Medical Hearing Center. Yet, coincidentally, she has moved into the same location, uses the same telephone number, and especially uses the same client base as Lake Medical Hearing CenterS. Her explanation may be legally sound, but I still cannot connect the dots as she describes.
