      Original booking of Trip in November 2019 Trip booked to Paris and London for May 2020 Trip cancelled due to Covid. Refund not offered blamed on destination travel agency Avant. Told we had to accept voucher but have never been sent any paperwork in regards to it. On going covid has prevented any re-booking of trip. Told Airline tickets not refundable Spoke to Airlines direct who stated that refund of Airfare given to AAA Attempted to talk to Avant they will not speak to public Attempted to present to upper management they said their hands were tied. I asked them about the Trip Warranty I purchased and that was refunded back to me unannounced Can not contact local office in Leesburg, Florida they are Always closed or have called and waited multiple times for hours only to be hung up on. Called main AAA to end up getting sent back to Leesburg office to leave message. Have talked multiple times to Agency. Still don't know where my $7000 is. After this many years I am not Financially able to even take a trip and do not have any vacation time with my company so even if I could take a trip it would be leaving work without pay and possibly losing my job. Left another message today but they are not good at calling back. Gave an email on the voicemail but could not understand it. Trying to make another appointment which is going to cost me money to take time off work. I thought AAA was supposed to help people. Have attempted to resolve through the years that is why I have refrained from filing with the BBB but I don't see an end to this.

      Consumer Response /* (2000, 6, 2022/05/03) */ Received a response from Leesburg office.informing me they responded back in February 2022 . I was not able to find email so they resent. They also called Avanti today and reconfirmed I have credits from Avanti that have to be used by 12/31/2022 or we lose them. They can not be transferred to any individual and have to be utilized outside the domestic US. They insist that The funds are not held by AAA the payments were made directly to AVANTI they were just the agents who plan it out and manage your trip payments until we depart. Though helpful giving me the information it appears we were uninformed ,when originally booking, of our inability to get a full refund from their "trusted partner" in the event of an incident such as this. We were led to believe that if a problem arose that our trip insurance would cover the incident but since we were issued a credit the trip is technically still available to us. However when the trip was originally cancelled we were only given a choice of a credit or lose the funds. No other option at the time so offer of the credit was accepted in hopes that other options would arise especially with the pandemic spanning multiple years. An expensive lesson to be assured.
