Institute of Internal Auditors refuses to refund after charging my credit card twice for certification renewal. They acknowledged that it happens from time to time but said absolutely no refunds even though i requested it minutes after discovering the error the same day the order was placed.

I am rejecting this response because: according to your own records my mebership start date is 12/11/2023. ******* as a member is $30 yet I was charged $120 on 12/11/2023.

I am requesting a $90 refund for the amount i was overcharged.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

      Hello ******,

An anomaly in our payment system has been identified and we apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered and appreciate your feedback.  It seems membership must be purchased separately from Certifications products for the discounts for Certification products to be applied.  We are addressing this issue.

We have refunded your entire order, which included your membership purchase.  Once you see the refund for ****** on your credit card, please go in and repurchase your membership.  It usually takes only ******************************************** your CCMS account but may take up to overnight to show YES for IIA membership.  Once you see the YES, you may click on the ***** ribbon in your CCMS account.  You should see a zero-dollar charge to renew your certification.  If you do not, please DO NOT pay.  Let me know so I may investigate further.

Again, I apologize for all this confusion.  Please let me know if you need anything further.

      Kind regards,

      *************************

I've contacted Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). A payment has been sent to IIA from my Bank of America (BOA) account in error. I am requesting for these funds to be refunded; as this was an error. For the record, I do not have any fees, dues, payment due to IIA organization. The payment was a check payment in the amount of $155 delivered on December 1, 2022 with the confirmation number of *********** (please see screenshot from bank). A refund check in the full amount of $155.00 can be sent to my mailing address **** *** *** ****** ********** *** *****. I’ve included a copy of the fax that BOA faxed over as requested. I also faxed a copy of the back and front check. I've called, I've email IIA`, BOA has called and as of today, February 16, 2023. I am getting the run-around. I am was told a refund check would be mailed to me however no check has been mailed to me. I was also told no one was in the office as they were all working from home, granted I am not sure what working from home has to do with processing ones request. I was even told someone emailed me however no one emailed me. At this moment, I am humbly requesting my money $155 be refunded to me as I do not have a bill with IIA, nor did I owe them any monies. They asked for a copy of the check to be faxed I, myself as well as the bank has faxed the requested information to them. As of today no refund has been sent. Could someone please assist me, by processing my refund and sending my monies to the address listed above. Thanking you in advance ** ********* ***** ********

Today 2022-10-05 I received an email from the IIA with a call to action to certify my continued professional education through the IIA CCMS system. When I try to do this the system fails. It is extremely sluggish. Then when it loads the CCMS the cart is empty. When I email or call the IIA I am unable to get through to anyone. I have been on hold on the phone for 20+ minutes. IIA: please fix CCMS and move it into the 2020s. CCMS is horribly outdated (1990s technology).

These people will not stop bugging me, after multiple requests to do so, via email and phone calls. They are harassing people. Please check into if they are even a legitimate organization. Thank you.
