The customer brought a vehicle ***** in shop to be repaired on January 4th and picked vehicle up on February 14th due to us having to use OEM ***** parts and there was a delay getting them. while the vehicle was here we spoke with customer via messaging and phone to keep here up to date on what expenses were and what part availability was. i spoke with customer at my shops front counter while we were waiting on a few of the final parts to arrive and informed her that her total bill was going to be $1400.00 and no more. when customer came to pay and take vehicle away she was told the total was $1400.she began to complain that she didnt feel she should have to pay be cause we had broke a part (and replaced at no charge) on her car, it was a fuel line fitting i believe and was only availaiable from **** after serveral minuets of her arguing and getting louder in front a busy showroom, i asked her to calm down and to please pay bill or i would be forced to call the police, she would not pay or calm down so i then contacted ************************** to come assist in the matter. *********** arrival she was taken outside and the officers again went over her bill with her. After watching 4 officers trying to get her to understand the bill I asked an officer to offer her to pay $1300. just to resolve the issue and no longer be a scene at my shop. The customer agreed, paid bill and was asked not to return.***********************Operations ManagerJoyce AutomotiveInitial Complaint

Scheduled appointment for induction cleaning service on my car 8/12/21. The following day I called back and asked how much they would charge for an oil change , and was told it would be $25 for an oil change (providing my own supplies) and the induction service would be $79.99. I arrive to my appointment and drop off my car on 8/18/21. When I go to pick it up I am told I owe $220. I asked for a breakdown on pricing, expressing that I was told the induction service would be $79.99. I am told the labor for induction alone is $85 and "chemicals" are $59.95. I was rudely argued with and made out to seem crazy. $79.99 is literally a dealership price,********* and ********** charge the same. I didn't think I had to confirm pricing again before service. I should have been told a price before they took my car if they expected me to pay more than what was told to me. Classic bait and switch. Owner/manager or whoever I spoke to was extremely rude and had a temper. I do not like being lied to.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/08/23) */ Contact Name and Title: Edward B*** Contact Phone: 863-688-0646 Contact Email: [email protected] I could not disagree more with Mr. ****'s characterization of what transpired that day. After 40 years in this business you learn to trust your little voice and unfortunately I did not that day. The moment he entered my shop he started talking about how he was ripped off for $1800 by the dealership WHERE HE WORKS. He was argumentative and disagreeable when he came to pick up his vehicle and my service manager of 16 years demonstrated what can only be described as remarkable restraint. As for his ridiculous claim that $79.99 "is literally a dealership price" for an induction service? I spoke with "Ron" at ******** on N. 98 this morning and was told they charge $129.95. I then called Lakeland Dodge and was quoted $219.95 for a 2018 Challenger R/T with a Hemi engine. We charge $144.95 for the service using BG products, the finest available. Bottom line? I am sending Mr. **** a check for $52.26 to be done with him. There are very few people in Lakeland who are no longer welcome in my place of business,********** **** is one of them.
