      They sold me a trailer based on the specs they had for a boat I purchased. That trailer fell off my truck and caused a bad accident. They knew exactly what type boat I purchased, and sold me a trailer that was supposed to fit. In fact, the trailer did not fit my boat and the trailer cam off the truck because of the weight issue and placement of the boat on the trailer. The trailer crashed into my truck and caused extensive damage. The trailer had to be re fitted. The total cost was $2,700.00 I have tried for a month to get them to respond and take responsibility for this. They have refused to do anything.

We are also quite confident in our position concerning this matter. Please see the attached which will outline the conversations between Mr.***** and the OSM representative. It is very clear, trailer adjustments were spoke of. Mr.***** has related to me personally: After the incident, the trailer was adjusted to fit the boat properly and the boat towed home as expected and safely. We do know, had the trailer adjustments been completed before departure, a safe ride home would have occurred. I believe what we have here is a situation of joy and pure excitement on the part of Mr.***** to receive his (new to him boat) as he disregarded our email to adjust and fit the trailer, he failed to ask the acting dealer to adjust the trailer as he said he did and finally...in a haste to depart for home port, the tongue was not properly secured to the ball. We wish Mr.***** the best and we are in hopes he will enjoy his boat and trailer to the fullest. The fact is that the place ( marina ) where I picked up my new boat are NOT in the trailer business. You can call them and they will 100% verify this. I told old salt marine this. They are not equiped to re fit a trailer. Old salt marine KNEW exaclty what type boat I had. They had the specs BEFORE they delivered the trailer. The lug nuts were NOT tight when they delivered the trailer. After my accident, the trailer place I had to take it to, told me right away, that the trailer was not fitted for my boat. It was 3 ft too short. THis is a fact. I can have you talk direclty to them. I had to spend another 1k ( see receipts ) to get it fitted properly. The statements from old salt marine are 100% false. The owe me $2700 and until i get that, I will continue to do whatever I can legally to make sure everyone in the boating industry in FL., know what type of company they are. My fiance was in the truck with me. She could have died as well. She will be testifying in court as well. I have proof that the MARINA where I picked up my boat does NOT in FACT work on trailers. They told me this and I told old salt marine ( Rachael ) this as well. They are a MARINA NOT a trailer repair place. I purchased the trailer from OLD SALT MARINE, not the marina. Old salt marine is responsible for what happend as they are the ones that SOLD me the trailer. That is like be going to them if something is wrong with my boat. They did not sell me the boat so they, as well as the marina, are not responsible for my boat. I want my $2,700 and until that happens, I will continue to do whatever I can legally to make sure that everyone in the trailer / boating industry in FL know what happened. My fiance is also suing them unless this is resolved, as she was in the truck when this catastrophe happened.

      Date Started: 7/27/2021 Date Completed: 3/11/2022 Total Transaction: $8761.87 Total in dispute: $802 Commitment: Old Salt committed to providing (1) Suzuki DF60AV outboard motor, (1) Control box, (1) control harness, (2) control cables, (1) Tachometer plus shipping to Michigan Dispute: According to my dealer in Michigan, I was sent the wrong control box, harness and wrong length cables. Apparently there was a misunderstanding between me and the representative about the type of control box needed. As for the control harness and cables, I was told that the length of these was not important as any length could be worked with and excess coiled as need. My Michigan dealer said that coiling these cabling and harnesses lead to problems. Basically, Old Salt should have left the harness and cabling to the local dealer to work with boat directly and not sold me generic cabling without knowing all the info about my boat. Separately, I noticed that I was sent the wrong tachometer compared to what I requested. I contacted Old Salt to inform them. After some discussions, including being told I didn't specify the tachometer (I later found the email I sent July of 2021, in which I directly supplied them the tachometer part number and forwarded that email to them) and that technically the control box I received was a side mount (though not the type needed for my boat, hence I say a misunderstanding), I was told to take it up with my dealer in Michigan (who said they can't do anything with the items because they were not the ones to invoice them). I was able to resolve the tachometer and control cables through a different channel but I am left with ~$800 dollars in accessories that I can't use and am unlikely to get anywhere near their worth by selling them myself. Their dismissive attitude during our last phone conversation and subsequent email leads me to believe they have no intention of resolving this.
