Stay Away if you dont want headache, they try to take advantage by charging more than agreed and trying to place a lien even tho I paid them. I hired Terry A ********** Inc to do clearing on my lot in North Port, FL, before starting the work, I told him that its 3 acre lot but needs aroung 1 acre cleared, we also met on the property twice before he started work, then we agreed that he will do clearing for the price of $7,500. Once the job was done I told him to send me Invoice so I can pay them, 3 weeks later after completing the work, on 7/07/23 they sent Invoice for $12,000, then I told him that agreed price was $7,500 and I can pay anytime the agreed amount, but he told me that he will only accept $12,000, so he refused to get paid in agreed amount, I been going back and fouth with him, he was claiming that they cleared more area that was initially agreed, he was saying that they cleared 2 acres instead of 1 and that is why he requesting more money, so I went and measured area cleared and it was actually 1 acre like I requested initially, on 7/12/23 he finally agreed that $7,500 is how much I should pay hime and next day I mailed him a check as that is the payment he told me to do. It takes couple days for mailed check to get to him, so he prabably got check couple days later on 7/17/23 after weekend and today is 7/19/23 I see that he is already deposited the check because it shows on my account that he deposited it. But the problem is that today on 7/19/23 I received the Notice to Owner/Notice to Contractor stating that I didnt pay him and that a lien might be placed on the property. That is illigal, I paid him as soon as he agreed to take payment in the sum that was agreed initially, he didnt even give me 1 week to pay him, before that I offered to pay him, but he refused because he was trying to take advantage of me and charge me more.
