On August 24, 2022 Mike, owner of the business, had his crew paint my condo. He never gave me a signed contract, only verbal and texting to verify the job. I paid a $1000 deposit towards the total of $3200. After he stated the job was complete he demanded payment in full before I could go back and check the work. My daughter told him we would check the job and pay him then. My daughter was at work when he showed up at my daughters home and he intimidated me, 79 yrs old, into giving him the full amount. When my daughter and I went back to check the painting we were very disappointed. Many switch plates were missing, broken or screws missing, holes in the wall not patched, places where you could see the old paint color, and baseboards not painted. He also took the leftover paint so that we could not touch up the missed areas. We called to to see if we could get some money back as his original quote included the master bedroom ceiling, which he did not do. He has never reached out or responded to our requests to work out a lower price or refund part of the money paid. I have pictures of everything stated above.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/06) */ The ceiling cannot be painted due to the fact that it is popcorn ceiling and detached in several areas, I have explained this to the customer before we started the process they stated that they did not want to put the money into the repairs needed to have the popcorn ceiling removed and retextured. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept the response because the issue of the original quote included the spraying of ceiling. Since he stated the ceiling could not be done after he accepted the job an adjustment of the quoted price should have been made. He demanded full payment before I could get to the residence to verify the job was completed to the standard he had promised. Also the paint should have been left at the residence to allow for touch-ups since the photos clearly showed several areas that were missed by the painters along with several baseboards not being painted. He stated the paint would be there, but he took the paint with him and would not respond to phone calls or text to please return the paint. I am asking for $200 to be refunded with the paint that was purchased with the down payment I paid to this company. I am only asking to be treated fairly as the pictures show a less than professional job. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/09/10) */ I have left touch up paint at the residence if you will forward me a mailing address I will forward you a check for $200 at that time I will consider this matter closed and satisfied Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2022/09/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2022/09/24) */ I accepted the company's offer, but as of this date, 9/24, I still have not received the promised $200 check. It has been almost two weeks. My daughter sent him the address via text on where to mail the check, but no response. Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2022/10/03) */ michael a******************************** Sep 27, 2022, 11:03 AM (6 days ago) to me I never received an address for the check to be mailed to, I have took it upon myself to send the check to the ********** address as to where I picked up the other checks hopefully it will reach you regards
