Green Construction Services wants me to sign a proceed to work order without providing an itemized list covering the work to be performed and the cost. Once signed, they will tell me how much I will be charged. The previous revision had a total cost of approx. $30,000. I chose not to proceed with a major portion of the work. They credited -$18, 356.00 without an itemized list. The balance of approx. $12,000 is in question. I've requested some additional reductions be made to the scope of work to be done. No response from Green Construction Services. This is a Condo Owners Insurance Claim. Green Construction Services negotiated with my Insurance Company.

We signed a Contract approximately 10 months ago for a home remodel. They replaced the sliding glass doors. The new door has built in blinds. The original date for the project to be completed was just prior to Thanksgiving 2021. The doors they installed, the built in blinds are broken. They installed the door, knowing they were broken. As of May 1, 2022, they still have not replaced the door, they have not refunded our money for the door, they have not repaired the blinds inside the door. The foreman "Woody" keeps saying Pella says the parts are on back order. We have told them to find a different door, even Lowes has similar doors that could be in-stock sooner. They refused to fix/replace the door and they refused to refund our money for the door. They also failed to fent the kitchen microwave outside the house as listed in the contract. We finally got refunded that amount. This project has gone way over the due date. We want the door fixed/replaced within two weeks or a full refund for the door (which is approximately 5,000.00), so we can purchase another one thru another vender.

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/05/13) */ Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention. At GCS, we take customer satisfaction very seriously. We sincerely apologize that the blinds in the door were inoperable. As you are aware, we had the door manufacturer come out to repair the blinds, however they determined that the blinds could not be repaired and the door panel would need to be replaced. Pella ordered the replacement panel back in March with an anticipated arrival date of May 24th. Pella later informed us that this date had been pushed back to July due to product availability. We have been in contact with you and your mother to keep you updated on the delays with the door. We understand that these delays have been frustrating, as they have been to us as well. Unfortunately, there are supply chain delays across all industries right now and this is something that we do not have direct control over. We have spoken with the manufacturer on several occasions regarding this delay and they have agreed to expedite your repair and have the installation scheduled for next week. We regret any inconvenience this delay may have caused. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this matter. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/05/26) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Thanks to the help of BBB and the negative social media posts I submitted, Green Construction got the door with blinds replaced. We are still not happy about the frame sticking up out of the floor. We have decided to sue them in court after the first injury/fall occurs. This issue has been documented and they are 100% liable for any injuries that occur. We did not have the estimate written for a tripping hazard, we did not pick out this door in their showroom or suppliers showroom, they chose this door and installed it with zero input from us. They have flat out refused to fix the tripping hazard stating "this is the way the door is made". The entire purpose of the remodel was to make the home handicap accessible for my Mom as she ages. Business Response /* (1000, 31, 2022/08/09) */ The scope of work agreed to by Green Construction Services and the homeowner included replacing a sliding glass door. The scope of work and contract make no mention of making the home handicap accessible. As stated previously, we apologize for the delay in receiving the replacement door panel. The panel was installed in May finalizing all work agreed to in the contract. We encourage you to reach out to our office if you have any further questions. Consumer Response /* (3000, 33, 2022/08/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The original door that was in place prior to Green Construction starting any work, never needed to be addressed as needing adjusted to become handicap accessible because it was a smooth step to the outside. They installed a new door CREATING the new handicap hazard. Their latest explanation was the door has the big step/lip to help prevent rain from coming in during a hurricane. I offered to go to several model homes and they could show me how everyone of these new homes have this hazard, they refused. We are done dealing with them and will take legal action after the first incident occurs. Business Response /* (4000, 39, 2022/08/30) */ Our agreed upon scope of work was completed in May. GCS has made all reasonable attempts to resolve any differences with the customer. We pride ourselves on providing peace of mind and exceptional customer service for our customers. Please contact our office if we can be of further assistance.
