The moving company and its sister moving helpers destroyed thousands of dollars worth of stuff. Moving place the manager ***** sent me messages that he would have someone call me. I had to find it myself it's going on a month no one has done nothing to replace anything. They charged my credit card over $800 without my consent they said I went over when they had my stuff for weeks and didn't inform me. No one's taking responsibility for about $9,000 of damage merchandise and . I want my money back and they're all avoiding me.Business response

We apologize for the inconvenience and regret that you had damages to your goods. Movingplace is a self-load transportation provider that provides the truck transportation only, not the loading and unloading of your goods. The goods were safely transported from origin to destination with no accident or damage due to issues with the truck. Claims for damages due to loading and unloading issues should be directed back to the company that provided those services.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:Why wasn't all this told to me when I was told by ***** that was going to get an inspector calling me regarding my items ,have people call me and never happen. Items were also damaged during transport. I plus 2 others where while the trucking company put bars on my item it torn things up. Moving place hasn't tried to help and are responsible for these items to alongside with they're sister company. I have text msg, voice recordings and emails. I will getting other parties involved in this. Tried my best to communicate but I see now I've been taken advantage of and scammed.
Sincerely,

As we stated, we are a transportation-only company. We had the contact information for the company that you hired to load the truck and provided that to you to file a claim with them. The response that you texted us was this: "I'm not contacting anyone you guys can contact me for all the damages."..
I have attached a copy of our contract which very clearly states: "Movingplace does not offer packing, loading or unloading services. However, there are firms in each locality who can perform this service for you. Movinplace is not affiliated with these service providers. If you decide to use any local service, your agreement with them will be separate from your Movingplace contract and reservation. Movingplace does not make nor imply any endorsement of the services provided by any provider of loading and unloading assistance. In addition, Movingplace disclaims all responsibility for liability from services provided by outside entities."
We again would refer you back to the company that provided the loading and unloading to file a claim. They have insurance for this type of work. We can only be involved in your claim if the truck is in an accident, overturns, etc. and that is not applicable to this case.We are sorry that you had damages to your goods and respectfully refer you again to the labor company where you can seek resolution.

I hired this company to move some of my things from ************, ********* to *********, ******** at a time when I'm in limbo. At the moment, I'm at an Airbnb for a couple months, and I originally requested this address for delivery of my things. When I called the company to request that delivery be made to a storage unit instead, they told me that it was against their policy. All I asked was that the truck be driven to an alternate address in the same town. Now I'll have to pay for another truck to move everything from the Airbnb to a storage space that's closer to where the company is driving from, simply because they insist on maintaining a policy not to accommodate their clients. I would like the company either to agree to deliver to an updated address on Jan. 31, or I want half my money back, to cover the time and expense of moving everything twice.Business response

This is the last text communication that we have with this customer.
********************** **************** **** ************* "I see the change made in our system for the address change to **************. The timing is still the *******am for the live unload. Is there anything else I can do for you?
Customer, ***********************, "Perfect. That's all. Thanks again, ******, and have a great weekend!"The person filing this complaint is not ***********************, our customer, but another person who was involved with the move. You can see from this text message above that we were able re-route this truck from the original address to the new address that the customer requested while the move was in transit. While it is not always possible to re-route a shipment in transit, we do our very best to accommodate these types of requests and were able to in this instance. We are not sure where the disconnect was between ****** (our customer) and ******* (the complaint filer), but are glad that we were able to help ************** with his move.

I am moving cross country. I paid MovingPlace almost $5000 for a container to be dropped off on Friday at my house. They confirmed the date. On Friday afternoon Moving Place called me and said that the container would not be dropped off as scheduled and promised, and refused to give me a time that it would be dropped off. Obviously I had to cancel my movers that were coming on Saturday and couldn't rebook. My cover costs were high. MovingPlace offered no solutions and no refund.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/14) */ We had an issue with the truck that was bringing this customer's container for him to load over the weekend and, due to the current supply chain crisis, could not get a replacement truck on short notice when the first one broke down. Our customer service manager spent most of the day on Saturday working on a solution for this customer. Even though this was a self-load container move, Movingplace, at our expense, paid to have 2 movers and a truck come and pick up all of Mr. ****'s goods and load them at the container facility. Our cost for this was $1135. We also offered $500 to the customer for the inconvenience. Moving can sometimes go wrong and Movingplace always stands behind our service. To say that Movingplace offered no solutions and no refund is completely inaccurate.
