We highly recommend Platinum Pools! We have built a total of 4 pools and this by far was the smoothest experience. They communicate with you along the way and answer all your questions. Their customer service exceeded all my expectations. If we ever need to build a pool again, we will call Platinum Pools. Best pool company out there!Review from Florans B

By far the worst company I worked with. They destroyed our backyard and after two years we are still struggling to get it done. Everything they started already been damaged after two years and we cant get a company to finish the job because of most materials they started been damaged. This company is a fraud and they dont do anything they say except take your money.Review from Laura B

This company and Dave are liars. They refinished our existing pool and Dave installed a water feature, a pergola. It is a huge feature, and takes up the NE corner of our pool. After 16 months, one of the legs of the water feature started a tiny rot at the base. He guaranteed us the wood he used would never rot. I started calling the company in February 2022, with no response. I then started texting Dave in April 2022 and also calling the office. He did come out once in April to look at it and said he'd never seen one of his features have some sort of infestation. We did not hear from him again and I started calling the office again and the girl in the office said she always gave him my messages. The rot in the wood got progressively worse and I would call the office at least once a month and also text him. Finally in August 2022, the girl in the office said Dave hadn't had the number I'd been texting for months and gave me his new number. I texted him and he said he had our new post and would be out the next week. Last communication from him was 9/19/22 saying our repair was scheduled for the following week. We are now ready to hire a lawyer. If I could leave a zero rating, I would.

Do NOT use tis company. This is a terribly run business. Owners are field people and do not know how to run a business. We signed a contract on June 2021. Broke ground November 2021. Final payment was completed November 2022. After final payments, a lien was put on our home for Platinum not paying contractors. Owner was pushy for final payment even tough there were a bunch of punch tickets just to pay the electrician. A few weeks later, my home has a lien because Dave did not pay the electrician. The surface company also placed a lien on our home for the owner not paying his contractors. If you should choose this company, do not pay them a dime until a phase is totally compete. They will ask for the majority of the money up front. DO NOT DO IT, they will take your money and sit and give you excuse after excuse as to why things are not getting done. So, this company will rob Peter to pay Paul. Positive is the pool looks and operates great. However, I feel completely uneducated on the entire setup. They do a pool school but, like everything, it is half *****.Review from Dawn N

It's more than ironic that the reviews for Platinum Pools and Spas say so many of the same things, in a NEGATIVE way. David G. says that the reviews are all fake and "just out to ruin a company" Isn't that hysterical. We all have the same stories. We have been dealing with them for over 18 months: contracted with them in 2020, gave them 25% deposit, the permit obtained 8/29/21 ( to no fault of theirs: we were building a new home and needed other projects finished before the pool could be started) HOWEVER the pool permit expired 8/29/22....AND HAS NOT BEEN RENEWED and THE POOL IS NOT COMPLETED. We have heard the same outlandish stories and lies from Dave G. that everyone else has....he'll be there tomorrow, he's on his way, he's waiting on supplies, he's got payroll to run. He has been sent pictures of the lousy work we are now looking at daily. The unfinished pool sits with algae ridden water, pavers are cracked & sinking.luminar jets have been started (by someone contracted by Dave), the pavers from around the areas have never been replaced, ground has been washed away beneath them from the rains since being installed.The outdoor kitchen has been sitting in the same unfinished condition for over a year. He also pulled a permit for a rooftop spa 3/31/22 which expired 12/13/22. I cannot begin to explain the embarrassment this is to us. From the pathetic forming to shooting (which spilled out everywhere because the form was SO poorly done) to the tile work, it's been one big clusterf*@%! We have paid over 95% of the contracted price for these 2 unfinished jobs. Our attorney requested a financial statement , Dave chose to ignore that, I then turned the company into DBPR. Dave called FURIOUS and "didn't understand why..HMMM! I encourage each of you to contact the DBPR and file a complaint. The more complaints they receive, the less chance the company or any of it's "owners" will survive, in any business.

Do not use this company. They have done no work in almost 8 months and refuse to give our money back. They did nothing in 8 months, did not even get a permit executed, now they claim they do not have the money to return our deposit. They have an F rating here at BBB and they have 4 current investigations from the state of FL Lic bureau and now 1 investigation with pinellas county sheriffs office. These guys are in deep civil trouble and potentially criminal trouble as we have discussed this company with both offices to confirm they have active investigations going.Review from Robin V

On November 2, 2021 myself and my husband entered into a contract with Dave G. and Platinum Pools. We paid him a deposit of $16,501.00. We were aware of the fact that Platinum Pools was not licensed in our county (Manatee) but told they were going through the process. Apparently Dave is the owner but his uncle Fred C. is the license holder. We were told by Dave that Fred had some things on his background check that he could not produce documentation for and he was unable to get licensed in Manatee County. Dave also asked us to pull the permit ourselves and every time I tried I got to a point on the website where it asked my choose my “subcontractor” from a drop down list and Dave and/or Platinum Pools was not on it. Dave then asked us to pull the permit ourselves and say that he was a friend doing the job but we realized we would have no legal protection and did not do it. Please note that this took months of delayed responses and no communication initiated by Dave himself. Myself or my husband would text him and Dave would call my husband back days later so there was NO WRITTEN EVIDENCE of said communication. So in March of 2022 we asked for our money back. Dave claimed he spent it all on equipment for our pool. I’m curious what he spent $16,501 on when the permit hadn’t even been pulled because the business was not licensed in the county?!? It has now been 3.5 months (since Mar 2022) of Dave telling my husband and saying “I will pay you next week. We are friends. Give me a few more weeks.” We have now had to hire a lawyer.Review from Peter N

The worst pool company the worst quality no communication and absolute liars. I am posting my number below please contact me so I can send you pictures of the poor quality of work that they've done on my $280,000 swimming pool

I don't know where to start. We chose PPS from other companies because they were the ones who could started the soonest. Dealing with them since November, Project didn't start until January which was the date we agreed, came first day replace the tile nice good, and then they stop for around 4 weeks leaving a pump running 24/7, giving me excuses of the weather and then they were working someone else etc. They used another contractor for the Pebble job and the finish looks horrible, they "try" to fix the problem 3 times coming after 5pm and the finish still looks the same. They sent the Pebble manufacture rep to see if there was something wrong with the product and he determine nothing was wrong with the product, it was bad installation by the contractor. They sent the contractor again and he told the owner he was going to have empty the pool again. (would have been the 3rd time in less than 4 months) don't think that is environmental friendly and not fair for the neighborhood either. I told the owner I wanted the money I paid for the finish back and he said that wasn't going to happen that he can send another crew or I could keep the last payment which was around $1,200, I decided to keep the last payment. Still debating what step to take next. The $250 Purple hearth Disable Veteran Discount they gave me wasn't worth it.
