Matt at Empire State Pool Services cleaned my parents pool for several years, last year he stopped cleaning their pool without warning. When my elderly mother reached out, he explained he had just had a child, which is completely understandable, the problem is he should notify them of a delay in service prior to non-service. Moving forward in May of 2022, he charged my parents $177 for a filter not once, but twice (once by check and then took it electronically without consent via autopay). My parents called me and told me about it, I told them to fire him and hire a new pool service along with calling the bank and notifying them to not allow charges from Empire State Pool Services, LLC. I have also read the messages that my parents have sent to him in regards to communication about whether he was going to come service their pool and he was completely rude. He stated that "I have already talked to your husband, you two must have bad communication skills." He was essentially trying to pin my parents against one another, saying that he was communicating with my father, when he was not communicating with either one of them. Luckily, I am in town visiting and now they are using a new pool service. Our one major concern is the $177 taken from my parents who are both elderly, nearing retirement and trying to save up for it. My parents are very level headed people and would love to be able to have someone consistently show up and help them, but after this charade I told them they have to find a new service provider. He also charged them for the service in June of 2022 and he DID NOT provide services. Overall, he owes my parents about $277.
