On 05/30/2023, in the late evening, I called Patrick #1Taxi Transportation, LLC to take me to pick up medication at my pharmacy, which is 2.8 miles from my home. I have used Uber in the past. The absolute most Uber ever charged was approximately $11.00 for the trip. In an effort to help a small business I decided to call the afore mentioned business. I was never advised of the price. Even when I asked for it at the end of the ride. I had to check my bank balance to find that I had been charged $40.00 for a trip less than 6 miles in total. Because of the late hour I called the business on 05/31/2023 to ask the owner if the exorbitant charge was in error. It was not. He offered me a $10.00 credit, but absolutely refused to refund the money. Even after I explained that the overage charged was supposed to be for a Dr.'s appointment that I now have to cancel. I offered him $20.00 for the ride, but to no avail. I need my money returned. I don't expect to ride for free, but at the same time, I cannot and will not stand still for being over charged. I also attempted to leave a review but it did not post for some reason. Please help me to get the money back. I know businesses need to make a living, but not at the expense of disabled people on a fixed income! I thank you in advance for your consideration.
