I put a 5000 deposit on a mini house. I was told to pull my own permits. I went to building department and found out I needed either a general contractor license number or subcontractor license for anyone building the tiny house. I told Keen's that and they told me contractor would be contacting me. I waited months with no contact. I finally got a hold of someone else in office. They said that they would have contractor pull permits. I waited and received nothing. The employee finally told me the contractor isn't registered in my county.He asked for me to give him a week to get contractor registered. Exactly one week no contractor.I asked for a full refund. He said give him more time I waited five months already. I said let me know if he's registered at the end of the day. He called said not yet that he planned to do it on Martin Luther king day . After that lie I just couldn't trust anything they said.I can't say that there a bad shed company,but the mini house is to much for them. I was hoping they would do the right thing and return my money. I thought it was , because of one employee that I received misinformation. I now know it's the company. I write this with a heavy heart. I was so hoping that they would do the honorable thing. If you decide to build a mini house check with the building department that they actually have a registered general contractor. It will save you a lot of headaches. Also read the permit paperwork for acting as your own contractor. The home owner is liable for everything.I hope they do better in the future and actually have general contractor.
