New metal roof installed in May of 2014. City of Kissimmee roof Inspector came by and roofing company tried to lay new metal roof over 2 layers of existing shingles. Inspector told them to remove shingles prior to new metal roof going up. Price, (not including interest) was $13,000.00. Roof has a dead valley and was not completed to allow full drainage in the dead valley. Husband was sick with cancer in 2014 and passed in 2021. He was never able to climb on the roof to check the job. Wife notice rotten soffit, in early August 2022, due to lack of full drainage. Called Kim, and she came out 8/26/22 and applied marine caulking which created a dam. Did not solve the issue, just created more water on roof. I have emailed, called, left messages and texts for Kim at Mid Florida Exterior to fix the dead valley to allow full drainage of water off the roof. I have received no response from anyone at Mid Florida Exteriors, LLC. I have a life time warranty of labor and materials. I would like them to come out the do the work correctly.

      Business response

      11/14/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/10/25) */ On August 26, 2022 Kim went out to the home of ***** ********************************************** she arrived at 10:30 AM. Mrs ******* had concerns with some soffit wood that was wet and thought that there may be a hole in the middle of her dead valley. Kim went on the roof to inspect and there were no holes in any part dead valley. Soffits are not the responsibility of a roofer however there was a rain sensor installed into the facia wood above the soffit that was of concern and Kim had put some silicone around it and told Mrs ******* that it needed to be relocated because it could be a reason the soffit was getting water around it. Kim shared pictures and video of the dead valley and the rain sensor issues with Mrs ******* before she left along with her suggestions that would help the soffit problem. Please keep in mind that if this roof was installed incorrectly we would have had problems long before eight years after. As far as the dead valley is concerned, I was the rep that originally met with Mr. ******* and it was explained fully that they had a dead valley on the roof which does not drain. A dead valley by definition does not drain one way or the other. In this case the roof forms a V in the middle of the building and water will ponder until it evaporates. A roofers responsibility is to put a covering over an existing building and never, did we ever offer to slope the roof because that would require changing the structure of the building. That is something that would have to be done by a general contractor after reengineering the building with a certified engineer. The only unanswered call that we could find record of was on October 2 at 4:28 AM Mrs ******* sent a text to Kim who was still without power and phone service due to the hurricane. There was never a call into our office. When Kim's phone service was restored the next day she called and received a Google screening message and left a message to return the call. I have called Mrs ******* five times between October 19 and October 25 without contact. The first three were screened by a Google screener recording and after the second I received a text stating she would call me after her meeting but I did not receive the call or a message after that. The last two I did receive her personal recording in which I left messages with no return call. Our reputation speaks for itself, we have no complaints in all the years we have been in business and that is a reflection of If there is something incorrect about a roof we take care of it. We have attempted to explain that the roof was constructed correctly and I would be happy to discuss this with Mrs *******. Jeff R**** 407-944-3532 www.metalroof4life.com Consumer Response /* (2000, 10, 2022/10/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am not a roofing expert. The owner, Jeff, called and explained why my roof is the way it is. My husband passed and I do not have any desire to go through any more stress.
