Through my insurance company, United Roofing replaced my roof due to hail damage. The process was started in June of 2021. United Roofing had horrible communication with me. They never knew a time frame of when something was going to happen at my house until I pushed for a response. I was willing to let all that go however last week I discovered that they put a Term of Commencement/Lien on my home back in June before the project even started. It took about 4 weeks for materials to arrive due to the pandemic causing shortages (at least that is what I am being told). United Roofing did not clear the Term of Commencement/Lien hold once the project was completed and they were paid by the insurance company. I found out that they did not do this while trying to refinance my house. I was embarrassed that the new mortgage company found this. Rebeca ***** from their office told me she submitted the paperwork on 11/24/21 and that it would take a few days to process. I understand that the county was closed 11/25/21 and 11/26/21 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. As of today (12/2/21), the county has verified all forms submitted to them through 11/30/21. I asked Rebeca for proof of when she submitted the documents but have not received that yet. I do not think Rebeca and United Roofing understand the importance of following through and completing a job including all paperwork in a timely fashion. Until this is cleared, I cannot move forward with refinancing my home and may lose the great interest rate. Extremely disappointed and frustrated with the level of service with United Roofing.

      Business response

      03/10/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2021/12/17) */ In regards of the complain of Mrs. ********, I have personally been in communication with her. It did took more time than usual since Mrs. ******** property is private and Seminole county requires that we send the property appraiser in order to pull the permit I had to send her a form have her fill it out send it back to me, and then send it back to the county. SO the process of getting that permit took longer. As for the shingle selection unfortunally with the pandemic a lot of the colors that they are not making so is very limited of what we can get, that is why we had to change the color of the shingles. As for her insulated panels roof again the pandemic a lot of materials are back order, not much we can do but I did keep her inform of everything with phone calls, emails. When we were doing her roof she wanted to get gutters too so since her insurance did not cover that she said that she will pay out of packet for them. After roof was done gutters were schedule she was happy an invoice was send to her of the amount of $350, I called her about 3 times letting her know that she still had an open invoice. It came to she was doing something with her house, and she call us to saying that we have a lean on her property which I advise her that we don't have a lean on her property what she was referring as a Notice of Commence in order to pull a permit we have to have a NOC record for some odd reason it shows as the person has a lean, I explain to her about it but it seem like she did not understand. She wanted to us to sign the affidavit saying that she had pay us in full but like I said before she had an open balance with us I let her know that until that was pay I was not able to have the owner sign that document. I have the emails where I'm talking to her and explaining the process. I send her mortgage company the paper work that they send for the owner to sign. Let her know that everything was taking care. I even send her a lien release to her email. We did help her as best we able to. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2021/12/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not accept this. There are several lies stated by the person that wrote this. After gutters were installed, I never received an invoice from United Roofing. I received a phone call from United Roofing, I believe in September/October, that they needed to verify my email address to send me an invoice for the gutters. I verified that they had the correct email address. That was the only phone call that I received from them regarding the payment for the gutters. I finally received the invoice for the gutters on Nov 23, 2021. On Nov 24, 2021, I received a call from my mortgage company that I had an outstanding lien on my property. After some research and talking to Rebeca it was a Notice of Commencement, which I believe should have been cleared when the roof was completed. The gutters were never part of the original quote when the Notice of Commitment was completed (only the roof). I paid the gutter invoice on Nov 24, 2021 (one day after receiving the ONLY invoice for the gutters). I NEVER received multiple phone calls or invoices for the gutters!!! After multiple communications with Rebeca, on Nov 24, 2021, she had the release of commitment signed and said she submitted it to the county. After waiting a week on Dec 2, 2021, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, the paperwork was never completed with the county. I spoke to Seminole County and they said if my name was not on the paperwork, it would be rejected. I tried to speak to the owner or manager with United Roofing but Rebeca said they were not available. That she would give them a message to call me. I am guessing that has NEVER happened since I still have not received a phone call, email or any kind of communication from the owner or a manager. I am so disappointed with the company and their interactions with me. After Rebeca said she took care of this in November she changed her story and on Dec 6, she said it was not her or United Roofing's responsibility to submit the paperwork to clear the Notice of Commencement that they placed on my property. That is absolutely crazy! I got my insurance company involved and they actually took the time to process the Release with the county and get it cleared so that I could move forward with my refinance. I missed my refinance date by 5 days due to the incompetence and lack of service of United Roofing and Rebeca ****** If Rebeca would not have given me the run around and basically lied to me about doing something, I would have been able to meet my closing deadline!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT A RUN AROUND!!! As of 12/22/21, I still have not received a call from the owner of this business. I am guessing that Rebeca does not want to get into trouble for all the issues she has caused and will not pass the message on to the owner that I would like to speak to them. To resolve this issue, I would like to speak to the owner of United Roofing. Complaint Response Date bumped because: Holiday Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2022/02/08) */ Good morning, Mrs. ********, I stand with our resolution in regards of this. And we have done what you ask for us to do in regards this issue. Best Regards.
