I found Spinks cabinets and construction from a local Facebook group I’m in where his wife posted for small business Saturday. I wanted to support a local business for getting my custom cabinet remodel completed so I had Jesse Spinks (the owner) come give me a free quote. He verbally gave me the timeline of the project and I was happy with the 6-8 week completion time. He sent over his contract via email along with requesting 75% deposit up front which equaled $6,525. I signed the contract and wrote a check for $6,525 on May 16th, 2023. He picked up the check that day and cashed it May 17th 2023. He confirmed on May 22nd 2023 that our cabinets had been ordered. July 4th 2023 I requested an eta of our cabinets and he replied on July 5th 2023 that he would find out that day. No update was given so I texted him again on July 6th 2023 for an update. He replied July 10 2023 that he should have a date by end of day. No reply so I texted again on July 11 2023 and he said he was still waiting on July 12th 2023. On July 14th, 2023 he said the cabinets would be shipping July 24-27th 2023 but never sent tracking info or order confirmation. On July 26th 2023 I asked for a confirmation that the cabinets shipped and he replied July 28th 2023 and said yes they had shipped. After no response for a week, I texted him on Aug 5th 2023 saying I would like my deposit back and to cancel the project due to the delays and lack of communication and confirmation of the job. I requested my deposit back within the next 2 days and he never responded, won’t answer my calls or return my calls.
