I made reservations through Expedia for what appeared in the advertisement as cottage. I paid $973.15 in advance. When we got to the property, no manager was available (we realize that this is not unusual) and followed through with the self check in procedure which we were texted. The room was NOT a cottage at all. In fact, it was attached to two other rooms! My wife complained and we were told that we could move our last day (of three wed paid for) to one of the actual cottages at no extra charge. However, in addition, the sink in the bathroom was not installed properly where we had to stay for the first two nights. When we turned on the faucet water leaked out the drain onto the floor! We called to complain, and were told that a maintenance person would be arriving shortly. However, NO ONE came! No one called to schedule and therefore we had to deal with towels on the floor and restricted use of the sink for two days. I tried to simply check out one day early and was told that I could do so, but that there would be no refund for the third day, because Tropical Cottages had a policy that they would not make changes or give refunds for properties rented through a third party. I called Expedia and they contact the property owners for me. No luck.
