My self and a friend booked a shelling cruise with you last Thursday for the 11:30 shelling cruise. I'd like to share some feedback with you and please know I don't like to provide negative feedback but I feel like you would want to know.
Based on my conversation with you prior to booking we are feeling very disappointed and somewhat misled given you described taking us to a "beach" better than Sanibel and that the shells are better than Sanibel when in fact it was a shoreline of mangrove trees and stumps and branches that were very very hard to navigate through. I almost face planted twice tripping over stumps and roots and my friend ended up with a serious scratch on her leg and cut on her foot. If we had elected to take that route on our own without any guidance that's one thing but we were directed by John to follow the path around the shoreline to reach the area to search for shells. I also heard you direct those on your boat to do the same. I kept walking thinking the "beach" area would appear but it never did.
I understand the tide was moving in however if the location had been as you described to me over the phone there should have been more sand to walk on and search for shells.
I know Shelling is based on a lot of luck but you have to start with a decent location and we don't feel like we were given that opportunity. Know that I don't like to speak for others but two ladies on our boat expressed to me the same feeling of disappointment. When I spoke to John about our disappointment he stated he didn't know the terrain was like that because he had never been on that side which surprised me for several reasons.. one...it's his job to know where he's directing us to go and second ...why would he tell us to go somewhere he's never been?
Don't get me wrong we felt John was very nice. He helped my friend back to the boat because she was struggling with her bucket and bag but that statement blew me away.
