I hired **** *****, an owner of Thee Rite Wayy! LLC to complete a concrete slab for a metal garage. He told me he was experienced with concrete slabs, that he had a team of several employees, and that he had a concrete finisher who would come at the end of the job to make sure it was perfectly smooth. He requested a deposit of $550 and the balance to be paid after the job was complete. It turns out he had never done concrete work before, he had no employees to help him, it was just him and he had no idea what he was doing. In the middle of the job he attempted to get me to pay him, saying he was going to leave and come back the next day with help. Obviously you can't stop in the middle of a concrete job. I had to hire someone else to spend 12 hours to correct **** *****'s errors and it cost me an additional $800. Juan spent the entire next day verbally attacking me online because I refused to pay him the balance (until I hired a professional to see if the slab was salvagable). He did not use rebar so now the slab still has to be drilled and rebar has to be installed which will cost hundreds more. He told me he plans on being a man of his word and stand behind his work. He then deleted the message and blocked me. I would like my deposit money back. He did faulty work and his incompetence cost me more money than what I paid him. The attached pictures are what he considered to be a finished job. He did stay after the pictures but only because my neighbor made him and even then the job was better, still not done professionally as he promised. It was not level enough to be used for a garage, which he knew was the slab's intended purpose.
