            Signed a contract with JW Handyman Services in April to construct a new bathroom in an existing home and replace windows with new windows. ** subbed out work to bottom of the barrel subs who did bad work. Work is still not complete. One sub is threatening to put a lien on our house because they have not been paid for work, even though we have paid JW $56,000 to date. One injured themselves and disappeared, and left us a ****** mess for us to clean up!JW Handyman Services texted us that they have "decided to give the rest of [our] contract to ******* [the latest subcontractor]" and that they are "removing [themselves] from the contract in its entirety". I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure you can't transfer a contract between two parties to a new third party, especially not without our consent.This entire project has been a nightmare and I don't know if there is any way to claw back the funds I've already paid so that I can have enough to pay a new contractor what it will cost to 1) finish the job and 2) fix the mess that the current contractor has from incompetent work, and possibly enough to pay the subs who claim JW owes them money for work on our house. I haven't even scratched the surface of the whole story on how terrible this contractor is.*******, we looked up the "contractor" ************************* and it appears he doesn't even have a valid contractor's license and not sure he should even be subbing out work he may not be qualified to do himself. I don't believe permits were pulled and I am concerned the property renovations may not be legal and I'm sure this puts additional financial burden on me.

            I had faith in them but was highly disappointed. I would not recommend and was financially taken advantage of. We trusted them with our home. They had workers make many errors. Some minor things were subcontractor and fixed but something’s were so damaged it was not fixed. We had to fix things ourselves and continue to fix things. We were charged for wallpaper removal and we removed the wallpaper because they were going to put mudd over damaged, peeling wallpaper. My ceiling look horrible and some repairs were not completed. I have had to clean paint and over spray myself and can show pictures of the work they provided. I was very disappointed in their work and not finishing our job and for not refunding money for what we received and didn’t receive. We paid for entire house painted but they didn’t want to paint garage. We paid for wall paper removed we removed ourselves. My husband worked three days with one employee who tried to fix some damages from their work. Garage walls were remudded without removing old tape. Not sanded prior to spraying texture. My husband is still working on our garage. Sanding, remuddibg and will still need to paint ourselves . Electrical canister lights were cut to large and you can see gaps. Lights were not installed evenly. Sloppy work. The second painters hired were very good. I have pictures from the beginning of this project and have pictures during and current pictures of our home not completed and can show how much money they have from us. I would share pictures to show references of their work. I wish we can turn my time and not have hired them.
