My 17 year old son had inguinal hernia repair and BPA anesthesia providers provided his anesthesia care. While both the **** and MD were both pleasant and seemed genuinely caring when they popped into the pre-op area to say hello and "ask all the questions" it is highly unlikely that they both participated in this routine procedure. Especially on a healthy young man who has no medical concerns and had his appendix out the year prior with no issues with anesthesia. My issue with BPA is that we received a bill for both of these providers, full cost for both of them. Having a High deductible health plan that translated to $1000 for us to pay. Which was almost double what the surgeon's fee was. It feels like legalized fraud, extortion, whatever name one wants to give it. Providers absolutely need to be paid, and the system needs to be turned upside down and revamped so they can be adequately compensated without these type of billing practices. My ****** here is to ask if I am going to be billed for both providers, and if that is the case, then I will decline the **** and insist on only the MD. Of course, if it is something akin to open heart surgery with many medications being taken at home, well then, by all means have 2 providers managing the patient. But a healthy 17 year old with no concerning medical history? No. Let's try and upgrade the medical system and be a part of the solution instead of placing the burden even more so on the patients.

I am a veteran and I have been in the hospital several times since 8/23. Billing has not gotten the bills sent correctly. I have called the VA. They are approved and cannot bill me for the rest. They need to contact the insurance with VA and get it straight. I cant get ahold of anyone. Im so fed up with the runaround.

I have dealt with BPA three times. While their anesthesiologists are fine doctors, the billing department is a joke. They have the worst billing system conceived by man. Three months after paying a bill I receive another bill for the same amount. Upon calling I was told "We can see when you logged on, but there is no evidence of payment." Thank goodness I had saved the electronic payment approvals. I was asked to upload the documents as well as my bank/credit card statement showing proof of withdrawal. The first web address provided didn't work. The second address would only allow one document to be uploaded. After recovering from a surgery or other major health issue, the last thing a person needs is to deal with an ineffective billing department that cant figure out if a bill has or hasn't been paid. The two times before were similar situations...They sent a second bill for already paid for services and I had to fight to prove those were paid..It sure seems to me that they try real hard to fool someone into paying twice. Imagine how much money they scam from elderly people that might not remember 4 months later whether a bill was paid or have some sort of "Auto-Pay" set up...its a disgusting practice and it casts a dark shadow of deceit and uneasiness across a business that empoloys some very upstanding medical professionals.

BPA billed me beyond the EOB received by the insurance company. Overpayment was made and they refuse to reimburse the amount owed back to me. The insurance company tried to help with the reimbursement, but they declined to return the funds. BPA is a terrible company to deal with!

A word of warning: This practice works with doctors (in my case, anesthesiologists) out of network with Cigna and will not inform you ahead of surgery. Went to an in-network hospital for surgery, and have been dealing with Brevard Physicians Associates billing out of network despite the hospital being in network. Due to the hospital being in-network, the bill should have been treated as in-network. I have been referring them to my insurance plan for an entire year at this point. Yesterday, I also got a voicemail from BPA saying that I have a bill due. I called and told them about my insurance issue. I asked for the Statement ID for the bill and requested that it be emailed to me. BPA "does not use email" (even though they let you pay online), nor will they give a Statement ID over the phone (so I can't pay online anyway.) The only way to get my bill is through the mail in two weeks. This is very frustrating considering the number of telephone scams I get, and how infuriating healthcare bills are. What 21st century business refuses to email bills, or even give the statement ID over the phone? Absolutely ridiculous practice.

Great doctors terrible billing company. I have asked numerous of times for a bill to be sent in the mail and they say they will and never receive one. All I get is messages saying my bill is past due. You cant reach anyone and if your lucky and you do it will take a good 30 min on hold. You can ask for your call to be returned only to receive the call and they hang up on you

I have received financial assistance through the hospital and have asked BPA to send me paperwork to file for assistance with them also and they say they send it and I never receive anything. Not even a bill in the mail. I have verified my mailing address with them numerous of times

I had a 15 min procedure in which I was charged for the services of one anesthesiologist and one CRNA. Insurance covered most of the anesthesiologist but barely any portion of the CRNA. $700 out of pocket. First bill I received was sent with a nasty gram stating I had received several notices and if I didn't pay it was going to collections. I called and paid $200, second bill same message again I paid $200, third bill was a text to my husband with a link. Attempted to use the link to pay the last payment. But it failed so I called instead to pay the bill. Last was $245 when I checked my checking account, they had taken out $567, Called again and was told the money was going to be back in my account my Friday. And it was but with a hold on it, called again hold finally was taken off 5 days later. Would not recommend BPA

I've over paid on my bill and the lady at Brevard Physician Associates has tried to help me with resolving the matter! She has emailed the the department handling my case and they refuse to reply back to her. Now I have received another bill three times more than I owed before. I have received the paper work from Health First and brought to Brevard Physician office! Obliviously they contracted out the billing department cause they show complete incompetence on handling this matter! Again I will go in and see if someone can resolve this billing matter again! If this was me not paying my bill they would be charging interest or having a collection agency after me!
