I was referred to this company for an **** Upon scheduling the **** I was told that I could not get an *** if I may be pregnant. So I waited until I knew I wasn't pregnant to schedule the **** Upon speaking with my doctor, this information was incorrect. It would have been safe to get an *** even if I was pregnant. Thus, my *** and thus my treatment has been delayed due to the incorrect information I was provided. I was specifically referred to this company because they had an open *** and I am claustrophobic. I was then taken into a room with a tube **** When I reminded them that I was to have an open *** the technician told me that was their open *** machine. I went through with the *** anyways as I wanted to get the *** completed due to the amount of pain I am in. This caused me considerable distress. When looking at NSI's website, they state the 1.5 tesla *** machine is an open *** machine. However, my head was inside the tube with only inches between by face and the top of the tube.I'm not seeking anything in making this claim. I just don't want other people to be mislead in the way that I was.Business response

I do apologize i do not recall receiving your first correspondence.
We received Ms. ***** order on December 10th - We received the authorization from her insurance on December 26th , her apt was scheduled for December 26th. I have attached the *** safety guidelines from the **************** of ********** Please see Page 16 -*** studies should be based on the medical benefits weighed against unknown potential risk. *** during pregnancy has not been thoroughly assessed , with that being said our Radiologist recommend that patient wait until after the pregnancy . This decision is made in the mother and childs best interest When it comes to patient safety we will always lean on the side of caution . The staff did not give false information that is our policy. As for the Open Bore ***. ******* Aera 1.5 is a 70mm s Open bore ***. Our Web site has a picture of the *** machine. Most ***'s today have a bore. Some are more open than others. We have a sister company ***********************. If her insurance permits and depending on the type of scan , i would recommend a Stand Up *** for future.

I had an appointment with Dr Robert D**** on Dec 6,2022 who referred me to NSI of Melbourne for an MRI i . I took the order directly to them the same day to schedule the appointment. They had over two weeks to obtain prior authorization. I was called the day before and told it hasnt been authorized yet and and I lem and immediately called United Healthcare and Dr D****. I was told that the authorization would not be a problem and just needed to complete a peer to peer. After contacting Dr D****'s office, they advised they would attempt to do it prior to my appointment but it was based on the Dr schedule. This was fine. I kept my appointment with NSI because i was already at the end of the year and met my deductible and said they couldnt get me in until January. They called me the next day stating it still wasnt authorized and I called and Dr D**** was scheduled to do this close to my appointment so I went anyways. I also asked what other options i had and was told I could use Care Credit to pay the self pay price. I arrived (after taking time off work) to only be told, after a 35 minute drive and time off work, they dont take Care Credit. I needed to get the MRI and couldnt reschedule (already took time off work and already at my deductible amount) so I had to come up with $500 to do the self pay. Which I was explained that I could just submit to my insurance for reimbursement. It was NOT explained that the insurance does not always reimburse you and if so, may not be the full amount. I received a partial reimbursement from my insurance and they advised I would need to contact NSI to get the remaining amount. The amount requested was the difference between the contracted amount and what the actual amount paid would have been. They refuse to refund the difference and want UCHC to reverse the payment they gave to me and rerun it to them (which isnt possible) They are keeping $166.20 and will not give it back. They don't care if they are in the wrong and the office manager there is heartless. In times like this, people should be doing the right thing. They knew the situation I was in and they did not fully disclose what could happen. They owe me the difference, as this is what it would have been if they did the authorization in a timely basis.
