As a retired veteran, I need to watch every *****. My wife and I were purchasing our first home ever when this company took $1500 from me for a deposit so I waited for the movers to arrive. The day the movers were supposed to show they didn't arrive they were a no show until the next day and then proceeded to raise the price by $5,000. I rejected and called for a refund as I was entitled to and all was "good" as I was informed until here we are 10 months later and I have received nothing despite my calling and emailing consistently on a daily basis. I have the email stating I would be getting my refund in 14 business days and I have gotten nothing to this date.Initial Complaint

Date: 06/03/2021: I did a ****** search for moving companies and unfortunately ended up being connected to Mr. ******************* (employee of Vintage Van Lines) when I called their number. They were courteous but not paying attention to details of the move . They sounded rushed and were ******* me to agree to the moving quotes immediately (house and auto). I was super pressurized to agree to the quote during this call when they said the following to me : " The quote is valid for few minutes only " and If I hang up and call back again after deciding, I will be quoted a much higher price. I gave into the pressure and ended up getting charged about $1500 on my credit card (as deposits on home and auto moves).In 2-3 days, I called this person back at the same number (they had given me their cell number), to cancel the move. After multiple text messages/ calls, I got a response saying none with this name works there and its someone else' cell phone. I called up their customer service multiple times and all the time I was being put on super long holds and I ended up disconnecting couple of times out of frustration. I sent emails to customer support but there was no response. Luckily, one time, I was able to get someone from customer service and told them I need to cancel my move and need to get the deposits for home and auto move refunded, and I was told- all they can do is put the move on hold for 2 years but they cannot refund the money. I made 2 payments (1 payment $1170 email attached here for home move), the other payment was for auto for $350) that was made over another phone call. I even emailed them about my job loss over past few months and requested to refund the money but to no avail. How can a business do this ( charge money without giving any service in return) and to top it off they are never available for you when you call or email? Its horrendous! I would like my money back. I reached out to Vintage Van Lines Inc on June 23rd, 2021, and the company was committed to moving my stuff from **********, ************* to ********, ********** on or before July 7th, 2021, after a reschedule due to company's follow up. The company acknowledged failure of service to me via email and committed to refund my money, but they never did up till now.Date of transaction: 06/23/2021 Amount paid: $650 Business commitment: To move my luggage from **********, ** to Edgewood Nature of dispute: Vintage Van Lines Inc failed to move my luggage and refused to post requested refund. Contracted with Vintage Van Lines to move from Richmond, Virginia to St. Paul, Minnesota. Paid $1600.00 deposit. Move was scheduled for July 19-20, 2021. Movers failed to show. Called customer service on the 19th and was told movers would call that afternoon to verify their arrival time on the 20th. No one called and no one showed up. We had already sold our house and had to vacate. Repeated messages to Vintage were not returned. Due to their failure to fulfill their contractual obligation, we were forced to hire another mover on an 'emergency' basis. As a result, the cost was significantly higher. Over $9000.00. The rate was over $7.00 per cubic foot compared to the Vintage price of $3.97. On August 12 @ 4:20 p.m. I called Vintage (###-###-####) and was told by Sarah @ customer service I would receive email confirmation of a refund by 9:00 a.m. on the 13th. Did not receive. Called back on August 19th @ 3:45 and was told by customer service (did not make note of her name) that there was confirmation of the previous conversation in their records, and she would have email sent immediately. None received. On August 23rd, customer service confirmed refund would be mailed August 27th. Did not receive. On March 2, 2022, I decided to give them one more chance. Called ###-###-#### and recording indicated "number was not in service."Initial Complaint

on 07/13/2021 i placed an order from this company because i needed to move from chicago to New Jersey, i spent 700 dollars for the deposit .....i called back and told the representative to cancell it because i no longer was interested in the service.... he was texting me and stopped responding and when i call in it goes straight to voicemail or they give me the run around... it is now 12/08/2021 i have been calling for months they do not respond and when they pick up they give you the run around about your money ..i received a email from agent ****** ******** 09/14/2021 stating Below Dear ******* *********, We have received your request to cancel your move scheduled for 07/20/2021. Your file has been submitted to our Billing Department. Your refund of $700.00, minus 10%, will be credited back to your account in 7-14 business days. If you do not receive it within that time frame, please contact our Customer Service Department at ***************@vintagevanlines.com. In the future, we ask that you please think of Vintage Van Lines for all of your moving needs. Thank you. We booked with Vintage Van Lines for our cross country move. We paid our deposit and thought everything was fine. Our move was booked for the 27-28th. Per the contract the date was guaranteed. Well Friday the 27th comes around and no movers. We begin trying to reach them and get told by the dispatchers that it may be Wednesday of the following week or possible Sunday. We had to be out prior and began to panic and tried to speak to anyone higher up but no luck. Saturday canes around and still no movers do we have to quickly scramble and move ourselves. Now they are disputed yo refund our deposit saying we breached the contract but they were never saying they could make our contracted date. The filed a dispute back to my credit card and won because I can't prove e we fat they told us on phone conversations but I am sure they have it all documented. They are also saying we did not follow the refund policy by giving notice, how do you give notice early when you don't know they won't actually make your date until you move date?!?! These guys are the worst, DO NOT use them. The are crooked and complete liars scamming innocent people. They are brokering out all there moves as well so you have no idea who you will be dealing with once you use them.Initial Complaint

We hired Vintage Van Lines to help move us from Michigan to Florida. They collected our $700 deposit that could only be made by check, ACH, or Zelle. We paid by Zelle. They canceled on us the day of our move leaving us with no explanation. We received an email stating failure of service we will refund you your money in 7-14 business days. It has no been almost 4 months. I've called multiple times every week since and have left various emails. No one has returned my call or given me an explanation. We have been completely scammed by this company and by the sounds of it they are doing this to everyone.Initial Complaint

On July 16, 2021 I reserved a moving service with Vintage Van Lines for a move from Phoenix AZ to ******* WI. At that time I paid a deposit of $3040.00 by check. The company cancelled on me the day before the move on July 30 and sent me an email to let me know they would refund my $3040.00. It is now November 4 and I have not received my refund. I have called multiple time (20+), emailed multiple times (20+). They will not allow me to talk to anyone but the operator who simply says, send an email. Looking on many sites with reviews of this company it seems to be a trend and vary calculated.Initial Complaint

On July 16th, 2021 Vintage Van Lines did not show up to pick up my items as outlined in our agreement. I was told I would receive a refund for $1,581 in 7-10 business days. I have called and emailed customer service NUMEROUS times. Each time I am told a check will be sent out that Friday. They finally confirmed they sent a check...to the wrong address. I was told it would be re issued in 10-14 days. That was in September of 2021. It is currently November 3rd, 2021. I have not received my money and keep getting the run around from the company. They lie to you off the bat and do not disclose they are a broker service. They are all scam artist scumbags. I want my money back now.Initial Complaint

I have two installments, one on June 4 2021 ($1000) and another on Sept 9, 2021 ($1025) for a move scheduled in Oct 2021. I could not go ahead with the move due to personal reasons. I have asked them (via numerous calls and emails) several times to refund the amount but I have not received any response so far. ****** ************ XXX-XXX-XXXX
