On the first week of January, I took my car to Cars and trucks and engines 4less in ***************. I came having engine problems and they told me that they would be able to rebuild my engine and this will solve all the issues I would have my car. I initially gave them a $1500 deposit and then after the work was done, I paid the remaining balance of $3500, this came to a total of $5000 for a rebuilt engine. Days after my car would begin to have more problems. When it on the expressway attempting to accelerate over 60 mph, my car begin to lose power. Immediately after this happened I took it back to the original place that repaired it. After days of back-and-forth, multiple conversations and multiple times taking it back there for them to properly inspect their work, they claimed it was electrical problems, and that there is nothing for them to be done.Today I took it to the dealer after not being able to drive it for months for a final inspection out of desperation. The ***** dealer on ******** said the engine was no good, and that the coolant and oil had already started mixing, and the car should be junked. Also that if any repairs where done that they were done very poorly and that their is nothing that can be done to fix it. After weeks of having multiple people inspect the car it seems like the initial issue that I originally came to them for has not been fixed and they refuse to honor the original warranty for 12 months that I was given. I am an elderly woman on a fixed income, and I trusted the shop to be able to fulfill its obligations and to help get my car back on the road. Unfortunately, I feel like I was scammed at this point and I question if any real work was ever done on the car.Business Response

On June 6th, 2022, I bought an engine from this company for $3,080.59. I installed in August of 2022 and ran for the break-in procedure, after less than 600 miles, 500 miles of which were for the break-in period, the engine had spun a bearing and was no longer operational, In September of **************************************************************** to pull out the engine again and send them pictures of it, I had become injured at the time and had to wait until winter was over to uninstall. In April of 2023 I was able to remove the engine and send them the pictures they asked for. They told me the heat tabs were melted and they couldn't warranty the engine. I called and spoke with ****, the owner and after explaining that I had it in for less than 600 miles and had not seen it overheat, he eventually agreed to warranty the engine. I had multiple Mechanics look at the engine and all had said that the damage in the engine was not from overheating, but rather being assembled wrong. In April 2023 sent the engine back to have it warrantied. In May 2023, I called to check on the status and was told my engine would not be warrantied and I should purchase another one. They sent me pictures of the engine, the pictures of the heat tabs they sent me did not match the pictures of the tabs I had, and after talking to employees and being hung up on, I called **** who said the same thing but gave me a lower price than what I purchased the original engine for. He kept insisting I had ran the engine without coolant and that's why the temperature gauge had not gone up. I had plenty of coolant in the engine and witnesses to confirm that statement. After telling **** (Owner of the business) that I thought the engine was assembled wrong and had multiple mechanics telling me the same thing, and told him I was looking for other options than buying a new engine, he said 'Then we are done here' and hung up on me.Business Response

As per warranty description overheating voids the warranty. Every engine builder uses heat tabs to determine overheating in an engine. Most customers do not notice when an engine overheats and that is the reason we use U.S made patented, Certified Heat Tabs in all of our engines. It is the only way for us to know since we are not there to check the vehicle. We didn't installed the engine. Heat tabs use heat sensitive metal centers that will melt away when engine temperature exceeds the stated melting point of the heat tabs installed. This visual indication provides evidence that a rebuilt engine has been operated at higher than normal operating temperatures. We still offered to replace the engine under warranty and charge you a replacement fee of $800.00 a third of the engine price plus shipping. If you still would like to do that we can still work with you even though there is no warranty on your engine as per pictures on the engine heat tabs. We still have your engine here we have no reason to make up pictures or try to cover something like that. We have lots of work and many customers to help every day. Againg we will be happy to work with you hope the deals works for you
Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:When I first contacted, I was told I would be getting a warranty and would only pay shipping. It wasnt until over a week later when I had to call you and was told I would have to pay *$700* plus shipping, not $800, to get another engine, that plus shipping would cost me nearly $1,500. The damage in the engine was not caused by overheating, myself and three experienced mechanics all agree. Claiming that the engine was run without coolant is ridiculous, if an engine didnt have coolant it wouldnt run for more than 100 miles before it would seize. Notice how the engine wasnt seized, it had spun a bearing, that damage is caused by being assembled incorrectly, not overheating. The pictures you sent me clearly dont match the pictures I took myself before I shipped it, I will be attaching the images to this message for view. Notice how my tabs are not charred and burned up, also how the broken rod is still on the wrist pin attached to the piston in the bore, while in their picture the wrist pin is broken out of the piston and there is no rod in sight.
Sincerely,

I purchased a set of cylinder heads from this company and one was determined to be faulty. The company advertised a warranty and after proving the issue to the company they agreed to send me a replacement item. The company never sent the item and stopped responding to me. I made numerous attempts and this has been ongoing for over 2 months. Ive been forced to source parts elsewhere and went without my primary vehicle for months. This also costs my thousands of dollars beyond the cost of the faulty part. At this point I am simply trying to recoup the money that I paid this company as the parts they sent were unuseable and not as advertised.Business Response

Customer purchased Heads on **** open a return request and we sent a return label(did not mention that on the complaint i guess he forgot that important part) after a week he decided to go to his bank and open a dispute and close the return case to keep the item and get the money back. We offer a refund and exchange he refused both options thinking that he was going to be able to keep the item and get the money back. The dispute was closed on our behalf after we submitted all of the paper work. ***** forgot to mention that as well on the complaint. He needs to send the item back for inspection before we can issue a refund he can still use the same label we provided when he opened the return request
Thank you

On August 20th 2021 the ************** (owner ************************* ************) replaced the engine in my 2006 Dodge Ram. They had ordered the engine on July 20 2021 from Engines 4Less, which engine came with a warranty. See the attachment below. the oil pressure was often erratic and finally after less than **** miles and about 4-5 months the oil pump ceased to work. The oil pump is part of the engine that was purchased to replace my engine. As you can see from the warranty attached it is a 2 year unlimited miles warranty on parts. I took the dodge into the Grafton Garage because of the lack of oil pressure sometime after the 1st of the year 2022. Note, I live 0.4 tenths of a mile from my work, thus though I had the new engine in the truck for 4 to 5 months when the pump stopped working, I had just under ****miles on the rebuilt engine. the communications from Engine4Less with my mechanic from the time I put it in the Grafton Garage in early 2022, to present has been terrible, and everything had to be initiated from this end. In April, after I called him on April 4 2022 complaining that my mechanic can not get any information out of him, ****** ask for the test to be run as set forth on page two of the warranty from "in case of a warranty claim" to "proof of maintenance receipts." (See warranty below) All of which were supplied and then, ****** demanded pics and videos (not required in his warranty) which were sent to him on April 22, 2022. Once ****** of Engines4Less was through with the testing proof and at his bidding, the engine was finally packaged for sending to Engines4less. It was then that ***************** told my mechanic the Grafton Garage had to pay for return shipment because the truck had been used before the failure was noted and more than a year had lapsed since the engine was ordered. No where in the warranty are those conditions.Business Response
