On July 4, 2022, I paid Beere Hospitality $1,090. This is a ***** **************** that a person can pay to be let into events and venues in *****. We paid for 2 events, were given two confirmations and we were let into one. However on July 16, 2022, we went at the confirmed time and location to meet someone from the company to let us into a venue, and stopped hearing from the person who was supposed to meet us. The owner of the company, Geoff, replied to me an hour later and said that the person who was supposed to meet us stopped replying to me because he saw our group and said we would not be let into the event based off of the way we looked. He referred to us as "whales" meaning bigger girls. After waiting an hour without a reply from these two men, we left as we were standing outside for that long with nowhere to go. Geoff Beere now refuses to refund our money although he did not render any services, and did not attempt to bring us into the venue that we paid for him to bring us into. We believe we're owed $610 dollars for this as we were scammed by this company that never attempted to perform/deliver the services that were promised to us. The company is defending itself by saying that they saw our group and based off of our appearance, they believed the doorman to the venue would not let us in, so he stood us up and stopped replying. About an hour after the confirmed time and an hour of us waiting, Geoff offered to try to get us to another event. We had already paid for this event and did not wish to travel further as it was already much later than the confirmed time. To be clear, the promoter thought that we would not be let in, so he did not even attempt to get us in, a decision that is not up to him considering we paid him to meet us and go into the event with him. Aside from the completely unethical scam that's occurring here, we're also upset that he would refer to his clients as whales- a disgusting attack on body image and uncalled for entirely.
