Entered contract in October 2023 to get hurricane windows installed. 6 months later they finally said they had all permits and will order the windows. End of June I found out they never got the city permit and never ordered the windows. I canceled and asked for my money back, which was agreed by the owner. I have been waiting for almost 2 months now and still haven't received my refund.

I received an estimate for roofing repair in the amount of $7300. My contract states that any change in price would involve a Change Order that would need to be approved by both parties. I was promised by ***** the sales person that included any additional wood requirements. A month after the work was complete I received a change order from ***** stating that I owed an additional $4000. It states thats the County ordered the change. However the county inspector cant 3 days after completion of the work. No inspections were conducted during the one day work process. He then added a lien to my house in an amount of $15300. I was scammed out of my money. I sm elderly widow alone and scared and he took advantage. I need my $4000 refunded.

      Hello,

I am sad to see that the customer choose to slander the company for work that was perform in her house.

to our defense we will say that the work that the company was contracted to do was completed, inspected and approved by the city! all permits have been finialed and closed and no issue was found in our work

the customer had an issue with the change order which was for extra material that needed to be purchase to replace the rotted wood in her roof. per the city inspector all rotted wood needs to be replaced prior to final inspection. the company sent a detailed change order together with pictures to the customer but she refused to understand.

other than that there was no issue whatsoever and customer also paid in full for the work

On 4/24/23 contracted with exact construction to remove and install new mansard shingles on my townhouse for $5500.00. They were aware of my HOA approval as well as a permit through the village of Palm Springs. As a show of good faith they asked me to put $1000 down, which I did on 4/24/23 via Zelle. On 6/13/23 the sales rep called me. He said they made a mistake in their calculations due to the HOA requirements in the grade of the shingle. He offered me my $1000 back but I refused on the grounds that we has a signed contract. On 8/28/23 or there about, I was advised by Exact Construction that the village of Palm Springs issued the permit and I needed to put down $1375 or 25% as stated in the contract. Since I had already put down $1000, I sent the remaining $375 on 8/28/23. Unfortunately, in September around the second week, life happened. I could not longer continue on with the contract financially and had to put me house up on the market. To their credit Exact construction did let me out of the contract and even mentioned refunding my last installment payment of $ 375.00 was was great. I called the Village of Palm Springs to verify that the permit had been closed to ensure no issues in the sale of my townhouse on 9/29/23. According to Christine in that department, no permit was ever applied for or issued! I feel that I have been scammed from the very start back in April’23. No meterials were ever delivered or a permit issued. I have been lied to this entire time and am out $1375.00

I received this email from the BBB on thursday November 9, 2023.

i called exact construction hoping to resolve my issue. First of all, nobody knew what I was talking about. As the message to the BBB did not have a persons name listed, I asked for ********************* who is the owner of company.  In fact, I called twice, once in the am and again that afternoon.

After my second call, ****, who identified himself as the operations manager, returned my call.  He was very defensive. He stated there was no better business bureau complaint. I explained the situation to him. He looked something up and confirmed my payments to the company. He said that his system did not have everything on it and he would need to do some research, but would get back to me on Monday 11/13/23.
I never heard back from him or anyone in the company and today is 11/17/23.
I dont know why they would respond to the BBB complaint and then not follow through.

I did receive an email from ************************* this past Saturday,12/16/23 reiterating that a refund would be issued but was pending for my current address. I responded back to him via email with my current address. I look forward to getting my money back, but do not want to close this complaint until I actually receive the check. This company has proven they are not exactly trustworthy!
