Car rental from A&G from 07/23-27th in *****, ** *********** (agent) insisted on charging a third party insurance (not required by the state law),before releasing car rental in amount of $249.95 for 5 days. It seems to be a scam, since I contacted National and Enterprize car rental companies and no such insurance is required. On invoice there is no number of agreement and transaction number. I had liability insurance, collision, theft and collision covered by my credit card benefits. I rent a cars for 30 years and I have never heard nor I needed to pay for third party insurance.Business response

Dear BBB Serving ***************** and the Caribbean,
Following up on our client's complaint, we are pleased to reponse your questions and concerns.
*********************** made a reservation through a booking service called VIPCARS. Prior to making the reservation and completing the payments, he had full access to the terms and conditions of each company he wished to contract. As specified in the coverage section, the client did not have any insurance coverage for the vehicle included. It is mandatory for our company that vehicles have Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and ************************************** In this case, it was entirely optional for the client to purchase insurance from our company as specified in the same terms and conditions, or to use their own insurance. For Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), the company accepts credit cards benefits or vehicle insurance through prior verification. For Third Party Liability (TPL), only insurance issued by U.S. insurers from the brands specified in the terms and conditions is accepted.
As can be seen in the rental agreement that the client signed and agreed to, the company accepted the vehicles Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) through the clients credit card benefits. However, ************ did not provide any insurance for Third Party Liability (TPL), which resulted in the charge for this coverage.
The client is free to cancel their reservation or proceed with it at the time of pickup. Clients are never obliged to purchase anything they do not want, and if they do not agree with the terms and conditions, they can proceed with the cancellation and contact the broker or booking service through which the reservation was made to request a refund.
For the above explanation, we are attaching relevant evidence to verify the information. Additionally, here is the link to the VIPCARS booking site to review the terms and conditions of the reservations: *******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.Best Regards,

Hello BBB Serving ***************** and the Caribbean,
In response to Mr. ***** request, we are attaching a screenshot of the website where ************ made his reservation. It clearly shows that all terms and conditions of each company are available at the top of the page. In our case, every client has access to read the terms and conditions before deciding to make their reservation and payment. It is essential for anyone contracting a service to read the terms and conditions of the product or service. Therefore, we cannot accept Mr. ***** complaint, as it is clearly stated and there are no hidden clauses. A lack of reading or reviewing the terms and conditions by each client cannot be considered fraud.
We hope this clarifies our position. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.Best Regards,
