This place is in my daughter insurance list. It was my first time to get a glass prescription. That day 03/12/2024. The person in the desk didnt told me that my insurance cover 1 exam and the glasses per year. She just tolde my balance was 415$ ofcourse im a mom and my kid needs the glasses.. so with ignorance I give her my card and they charge me! Charge me For something that my insurance cover! *** never say thissss glasss is for free or this other ones are expensive and you have to pay it right! /so super sad i call other place to ask.. if that amount was normal! Ofcourse NOT! They run the insurance and thats the way i notice that charge was a mistake! Nowww they dont want to refund my money and also they use tue insurance benefits.Business response

Good Afternoon, The patient in question does have insurance which covers a basic frame with a CR-39 lens (plastic) at no cost. When the patient and mother selected a a frame, they selected a designer frame. In addition, they selected upgraded poly, photochromatic lenses with an antireflective coating. These are all items that are not covered by their insurance and required an out of pocket payment. This was explained to the patient and she paid for the upgrades at the time of the visit. Then when the glasses came into the office, we contacted the patient and told her they were ready for pick up, and she refused. She wanted a refund. We processed her refund, minus a restocking fee as the lenses were made specific to her order, therefore we are not able to reuse them.
If the patient had expressed to our staff their desire to stay within their benefits, we could have talked them through what was completely covered and what were upgrades. Our staff review benefits with the patient prior to their selection of materials. Please advise if there is anything else needed to close this concern.
