    I waited years to reach retirement and get Medicare. Glasses 3 years. Even after cataract surgery. I visited a local Community Eye Glasses . I got a prescription, paid, for a tint dark grey, and was provided the glasses later. They were wrong. The tint was pink, bright pink, and I could only see up close 12 inches with the right lens and could not drive safely with the glasses as is. (I would later learn the prescription is sent to ICARE and ICARE creates the glasses, not the facility)I got of course ****************** routine by staff of how it was my fault. I returned to have another exam, I was denied another exam as promised. Staff became argumentative and abusive. I left the glasses with them and said I would see another doctor. I then learned ICARE decided there would not be another eye exam, the doctor refused to allow it and I was stuck with no glasses. I then contacted *****, who said I had $400 remaining still and could set up another appointment. I did. They ran my coverage and informed me ICARE was denying the new exam, and I could use a prescription to get new glasses. Since I suspected it was not just the build of the glasses which were horrific but also the exam, I ordered a pair. Cheapest frames imaginable but hey, it is America. I was denied a UV coating that is mandatory for people who have had cataract surgery. Or any other promised benefit, of the glasses. ICARE paid out $300 for the glasses. Far more than what they had paid for the first. Successfully wiping out any potential for another eye exam. When I got the glasses back I was correct. The exam was faulty. The right eye was blurry after 12 inches using the bifocals, and my eye is dependent on the left eye to see for it. I have no UV coverage. These were about 15% better than the last pair of PINK lenses, so in desperation, I have ordered my own glasses from Google4u with UV coating and tinting which helps reduce UV light. The prescription is wrong but I was left with very little choice. ICARE owe me for an eye exam with adequate glasses.

    Awful company. Humana HMO uses them as their vision provider so have to use them. Tried to find optician for new glasses. Icare had many listed but none who actually accepted them except for one which was a booth inside a Marshalls store that did eye exams only for $39. No glasses.
