      Good Day,Thanks for helping look for a solution here. I had planned on a stomach balloon install to help with a weight control issue. We selected the vendor Miami Sleeve Center. They set a date for the surgery May 29th, 2023. Now, that date *** look interesting...Right. Its Memorial Day. So we asked for confirmation from the center before booking tickets and hotels. They assured us that its not going to be an issue and we were ok to pay to lock in the date and get started on the pre-op process. So we did just that. We started making arrangements. I submitted my time off from work and paid the $250.00 deposit. I thought everything was a go. I thought wrong. The hospital / Doctor had an issue and pushed the surgery date till the 31st. Therein lies the issue. The post op requires a set amount of time before you can travel again. So I had fixed dates for this process. The vendor changed those.So via phone calls and 2 email requesting the security desposit back, they decided that ignoring my requests to reinstate my deposit was the best course of action. Obviously, we differ from that assessment. I have presented to the BBB the *** account that shows the money going out on the 05/18/2023. Also added was the email history asking them to do what is right. Bonus screenshot in the email is in spanish. But in a nutshell, it has us confirming the date, the vendor also saying its ok andt its been moved to pre-op. Then due to no fault of ours, them changing the date to one that didnt work for us.I understand that things happen, but thats no reason to take it out on your customers. Thats why we are seeking help from the BBB to make us whole and help guide the vendor to do whats right and fair.Respectfully.***********************

      I contacted The Miami Sleeve Center to consult for bariatric surgery. Once a brief questionnaire was done by their staff they reported I would qualify. I was contacting for the special for one of their doctors ************ for the amount ****** however the staff reported that it would be for ******. I continued to proceed the process for their services and received information by their staff *** initially that I could pay a part of the money with my debit card/credit card. I asked since I did not qualify for their financing if my mom could pay the remaining balance with her credit card. *** reported that my mom could however, she would have to log in their system to upload the payment.On 2/4/2023 I made a down payment of ***** towards the surgery. I contact ************************* to discuss the completion of the payment due to issues with my mom logging in their payment system and Ms. *** reports that my mom is not allowed to pay for my surgery. I asked why not inform me before I began making payments towards the surgery. Ms. *** was rude on the telephone reporting that since my mom was not the one having surgery she could not make the payment nor go to the office to make the payment. I began the process for cancellation and Ms. *** contacted me reporting that a 700 cancellation fee would be charged. I discuss with Ms. *** that I received an email detailing I have no surgery date and on the contract the second line it reports I can cancel if I do not proceed with a package. No doctor has seen me, no scheduled surgery date has been set. No medical records and labs have been sent to The Miami Sleeve Center Ms. *** reported someone from the cancellation **** would contact me and no one has. Their staff provided wrong information and unclear information and my money is not being returned for their negligence.

      We apologize for the late reply, I took the time to review the patients file in order to respond to her filed complaint. 

      The Patient contacted the office interested in a surgical procedure on 2/3/2023, before the patient placed a deposit she was provided with our cancelation policy, which states if the patient were to cancel at any given time for any reason there will be a cancelation fee of $750. Patient agreed to the policies and procedures of the company and made her deposit of $2500.  Then patient contacted the office in regards to paying her procedure with Alphaeon, a financing company; but the card was under her mother's name. We explained to both the mother and the patient that she had to be an authorized user on the mother's account in order to proceed with payment. Both patient and mother refused. Patient summited a refund request 2/17/23 and refund has already been proceed for $1,750 back in 2/22/23.
