Abraham agreed to install a 1170 square foot driveway at my home for $7000. He refuses to refund the $4095 I paid up front. For 4 weeks he has ignored and defied code requirements, created a frame that is angled to channel water runoff to my home's front door, & formed an uneven surface with areas nearly as high as the frame. On July 15, 2022 we signed a contract stating a price of $6500 & the dimensions. He asked for 50% up front via Cash app in segmented payments, plus an additional amount to cover transaction fees. I paid $2500 on July 16. I paid an additional $750 & $70 on July 17. We then agreed to lengthen the driveway by 5 ft for $500, so I paid an additional $275 on July 18. He reduced the dimensions by 70 sq ft without reducing price, after I paid the $3595. On July 20, before he began working, I provided him with a document I received with my permit displaying code requirements. After he cut the curb, he expressed how I should not have obtained a permit because inspectors are picky. He asked for more money due to his lack of preparation for the city's requirements, so I fronted an additional $500 of the $7000 in the form of a check. He failed the 1st inspection due to not installing any rebar, & he did not return for 2 weeks. While waiting for the results of the 2nd inspection, Abraham tried to convince me to allow him to pour the concrete before obtaining their permission. He failed the 2nd inspection due to improperly forming the right-of-way, & installing only a quarter of the required rebar. Abraham then said the two of us could install the rebar. He rejected my offer to participate in the labor I was paying him to do, if $500 was reduced from the price. On August 17 he finally installed rebar every 6 inches, & he assured me all rebar would be installed the required depth of 6 inches. The epoxy didn't properly cure, revealing the rebar to be installed less than 1 inch deep in an attempt to conceal that he was defying the code's required 6 inch depth.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
After failing an inspection on July 28th, Abraham was absent for 8 days of clear weather until August 11th.
From July 29th to August 10th there were 5 clear days, plus 2 days it didn't rain until 3:30PM, plus 1 day cleared by 9:30AM.
On July 21st, the curb was cut and the frame was installed in only 4 hours of work. The frame is unstable and angled to flood my home.
On July 23rd and 25th, the surface was tilled and some of the right-of-way excavated. The surface is greatly uneven and the right-of-way is not excavated to code.
On August 11th and 17th, the rebar was installed.
This rebar was epoxied into the road less than 1 inch in an effort to conceal defiance of the code's required 6 inches deep.
He offered to refund $1,800. The work performed is not worth $2295. I told him the lowest I was willing to accept was $3,000 without taking it to court. The driveway is weeks behind schedule. I need to pay a properly licensed and capable replacement to remove everything and finish the job.
I cannot trust Abraham to properly complete the driveway. He falsely advertised he is licensed, attempted to conceal code defiance, created an uneven surface for the driveway, was absent for 8 days of good weather, and framed a driveway that's angled to flood my home.

We paid Abraham's Concrete $9,600.00 $3,200.00 over the original contracted price of $6,400.00 because he said he would provide stronger concrete and more space for the extra $3,200.00. They started the job on 7/13/21 on 7/14/21 when we were able to walk on it we noticed cracks, holes, uneven framing, a space between the garage and concrete that allowed water to drain in garage, no contraction joints and tons of splattered concrete on our house siding, garage, plant stand, all my yard ornaments. My husband called they said they would be out Friday for clean up. They did not come. My husband and I did the cleanup. They returned to try and "fix" the issues on 7/22/21. When placing the contraction joints some of the spots have crooked lines, the garage still floods in during rain. I wrote and email and called yesterday and today with no response. I am sending all pictures and emails/letters that I have sent to him with no response to you as well. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/08/20) */ I came over in fix the problem and everybody know you can not control what concrete do when it comes to concrete I'm sorry I done my job Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2021/08/25) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Because our garage is still flooding when it rains, the cracks in the concrete are getting worse and we have paid 9,600.00 dollars for a concrete job that has caused us nothing but issues that will cost more money to fix. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2021/08/26) */ Sorry for any problems you had I came to your house fix everything seems like a problem you didn't give me a chance to come back with in a week you call bbb I talked to your husband he told me what happened I fix it like I said before went on with my day Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2021/08/26) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I did not contact the BBB until after Ireached out to you several times via email and phone calls you returned none of them and this was after you came out and tried to fix the problems we contacted you about the first time.I returned home after you came out to fix the garage area to a flooded garage so nothing was fixed and it's been flooding everytime it rains. We have even larger cracks in our driveway now. It is sad to me as a business man you would be okay with taking someone's hard earned money and leave them with more problems then when their driveway was a crumbling mess in the first place. Concrete is your business so when you tell us it will look great and fix our issues we would like to believe that you know what your talking about. Nothing is going to fix a flooding garage until all the concrete is taken out and done again from scratch. We paid you our 9,600.00 dollars because you gave us your professional opinion on just how you could help us fix the concrete that was supposed to make our driveway more dependable.
