Renovation Flooring installed a new tile floor on our outdoor balcony in November of 2020. The installation "crew" they subcontracted the job out to were a bunch of kids(didn't speak English) including one child who could not have been more than 13 years old. Their adult supervisor was not present for almost all of the installation since I observed the installation process. Within a month of them completing the installation horrible staining and leaks appeared from under the tile flooring staining the flashing and patio pavers below. After almost three months of frequently contacting them I was told by the gentleman who sold the job that he was leaving the company but had communicated the problem to the owner and he would get back to me. I still heard nothing back until sending another email giving them one more chance to respond before taking legal action. I finally heard back in May 2021. They inspected the job and said they had done numerous second floor tile balconies and had "NEVER" seen this type of run off and staining, They brought a material vendor out to inspect and he stated that this was not normal. They came to the conclusion the wrong material( grout) was used causing the staining and new grout should be used. They sub contracted with another Tile installer to replace the wrong grout with the supposedly stronger new grout and tried to clean up all the staining, Within two weeks the excessive staining down the side of my house and on to my patio started again. The Renovation Flooring representative, Colby texted me ( I have a copy of this and all communication) saying they would most likely be replacing the entire floor to correctly fix the problem. Their owner came out to look and it was obvious he was trying find a cause for the problem other than their faulty installation. Within a week I was being told that this staining that they previously said they had never experienced is "normal", that it "looks horrible" but it's "functioning.
