May 8, 2023 May 8, 2023 Allman Construction Rating: 5 star Thank goodness for **** ******. When hurricane Ian flooded our home in **** *** on September 28th, my wife and I had been living there for only one month. A month earlier we had sold our home in Kentucky and decided to live full time in Florida. Now our home was unlivable. We lost all furniture appliances, flooring, etc and had to rebuild our home. We needed a licensed contractor to take on the rebuild project. After a lot of investigation we selected **** ****** (Allman Construction) to complete this task. At a very young age with the help of his father **** learned how to build houses and all about the home building Industry. He has completed several engineering related courses in the military. He is very familiar with the home building requirements/specifications in Southwest Florida. His electrical back ground seems to be the strongest of all the building crafts. He is very talented in construction design and problem resolution. His company has all the tools necessary for home construction and based on the job he did for us, I believe he is the best trim person in south west Florida. **** Allman handled all elements of work in an efficient manner. I would hire him again for this job. Would recommend him to other customers for similar jobs, ***** ********Review from Freddy and Selochanie M.

I hired this contractor to help me with a building code violation by removing a structure and to build a storage room accordingly to the building code on 09/23/2021 with a deposit to start, processing permit started on 11/09/2021 and process started but was voided on 12/18/2021 for not payment of fees. Allman excuse himself that He did not understand how to navigate the system (?). On 01/11/2022 Allman Construction started a new permit, was slackening with the requirements again. To make it short, I eventually got fed up with his uncooperative demeanor after 4 months of inactivity, I hired a lawyer to demand refund or better. As slick as always, He tried to blame all his sleaziness on the violation, went to Consumer Affairs to file a complaint. They did but a brief review and recommended legal action. Allman became aggressive and foul mouth towards me and have yet to responsibly make it right. I fell for his smooth viperine tongue because I was in dire need to get it right by the code violation. He keeps saying that he visited the site every 2 weeks, if it were so this job would have been finished by now, almost a year since contracted. He hides behind a business phone that does not a voicemail active and Florida State Construction Laws and Regulations for the time to complete or abandonment. Also, He has tried to alter the plans submitted and requesting more money. He has been paid for up to 80% of completion and delivered only 50% of the project. I am paying for the consequences of my ignorance and trust of a contractor's lack of professional integrity. He keeps submitting revisions to (which are rejected by Palm Beach Building Division) to get more time to keep permit active and buying more time which is hurting my home as elements are starting to affect my property. Do not fall for his pictures and bragging of jobs He claims to have done. Just stay safely away. I just dismissed his servicesAllman Construction Response

******
He himself had done work without Permits. The reason so he said was to avoid paying for the Permit and the increase of home value. This is because he was trying to evaid the increase Taxes.
****** does not understand I need to hire A structural Engineer to Correct what he did and pull the Proper Permits legally that takes a long time to ge through the Building Department.there is also material shortages like CONCRETE that takes about 3 months to get. ****** still can not understand doing things LEGALLY takes time.
****** also talked about Revisions.
He has removed his front Porch that was Engineered so no YES it requires a REVISION to be removed as it was part of the Legal Permit
In short if someone writes a BOOK to explain a Complaint than that Complaint just may be a story of UNTRUTHSCustomer Response

Good evening to all who reads reviews to stay informed. I am not surprised about his response as it shows the same lame excuses. Permits may take up to three months when there's a snag in the process but it was not because The Palm Beach County Building Division was at fault but Allman Construction. The business were hired to do a job and blatantly failed. Failed to complete the process when it started in 10/2021 (voided on 12/2021 for nonpayment). Almost failed again with second attempt 01/2022 because of his ignorance as how to pay initiation fee. I had to proceed, pay and kept nagging and coaching so that the permit would be issued.. Violations? yes, I did but was given order to demolish to comply. Contracted Allman Construction because I did need a licensed contractor. Now it's 6 months into process as of March 2022 when finally, the permit got issued. Fed up with the inactions of Allman Construction, I hired a lawyer demanding reimbursement of payments for abandonment of job. He gave lame excuses that He never abandoned, that he came by every two weeks to check. I have videos to prove otherwise. If Allman Construction were at the job site every two weeks, the job would have been finished by July 2022. He came every once two months so that He could claim that He did not abandon the project. Concrete delay was another excuse, texted concrete would be delivered in a week, again three weeks later that delay was due to covid and chain supply. In short, Jeffrey Allman's crookedness goes beyond lack of morals and profesional ethics. On August 25,2022, He was notified by mail that his services were terminated as recommended by proper authorities on the matter. Today, August 29, 2022, He showed up at my residence while I was absent to start working but I stopped him and run him off as the crook he is with the police as he was denying having been notified but I got the proof and showed to the authorities. Allman Construction showed that it neither have the manpower nor the financial and equipment to do anything but handywork, maybe not even that. People save yourself time, headaches and financial losses dealing with this business. There still another office that I am going to report Allman Construction here in Florida and Ohio. Research Allman Construction. Do not trust him in to your home as I was fooled by his smooth viper tongue. **********************.
