We hired 5 BERS FURNITURE SHOP to refinish our dining room table top. When the dining room table was delivered back to our house the color was an orange wood tone. After the second attempt at refinishing it, the table top is now a medium brown. It lost all the beautiful wood color hues. The table top has not been refinished to the correct wood tone it was and the color once again is not correct. This company changed the beauty of this table top to something that has lost its beauty. We were told by this company numerous times that the table top would be refinished exactly to what it was and keeping the original beauty of it. They assured us of this. We even visited the workshop to ensure this would and could be accomplished. We even spoke with the refinisher herself. They were all confident that this table top would be exactly the same when the completed refinishing process. It is not the same at all. We remain extremely disappointed. Additionally, there are several major clear coat bubbles in the tabletop finish exemplifying poor workmanship. They did mention that there was a problem with the spray booth and perhaps there are still issues with the spray application process. This table was hand made in Italy the cost was $10,000 (ten thousand dollars) when purchased new. There were minor imperfections from normal wear in recent years and when we sought this company to refinish it we were expecting the same glorious wood finish of the original. This completely falls short of the beauty that once was. Also the high gloss finish was removed and it is a dull satin finish. This company has had two failed attempts at this refinish process and we are seeking a full reimbursement of the cost that we were charged by this company.
