As part of our remodeling plan, I called *** at Apex tIn April of 2022 for a quotation to install tile that I had already purchased. He told us that he was a licensed contractor and that not only could his company lay the tile, they could do the entire remodeling job. April 18, 2023 Apex Tile and Grout Co.In early May 2022, I contacted you as owner of Apex Tile and Grout, to inquire about having your company install tile that I had already purchased. When you came to discuss the project, you offered that you were a licensed General Contractor with many years of remodeling experience in ********, and that your company, Apex, could do our entire entire remodeling job. The following recent letter to *** explains in detail what has happened:You offered to provide a quotation which we received on May 4th, 2022.To cut to the chase, your quotation #EIN86-3800988 was for $95,625.00. It turns out that our records show that we paid you $1118,941.00.This is what you completed:1. Demo 2. Painted (one coat) quotation was for two coats.3. Laid my tile 4. Installed kitchen cabinets (terrible job-****** drilled the holes in the wrong place and, the cabinets beside the range cannot be fully opened as they are blocked by the range.5. Measured for kitchen countertops.6. Installed new interior doors (with no hardware and not painted).Things you did not do:1. You did not replace the floor moldings with 5 - 6 inch moldings, per contract.2. You did not paint the doors or door moldings, per contract.3. You didnt replace the front door or screen door, per contract.4. You didnt install the vanities, per contract 5. You didnt install the new toilets, per contract.6. You did not finish the column, including electrical wiring, from the floor to the ceiling or repair the demod ceiling in the kitchen. The guest bathroom toilet disappeared from my condo so I had to buy another one.In short, you didnt do did not complete the job and I had to hire someone else to do it. .In early March of this year, I contracted another party to complete the project when you stopped working on it. So far it has cost me over $15,000.00 with more to come To preclude legal action, I am willing to settle with you if you will return less than half of the To preclude legal action, I am willing to settle with you if you will return less than half of the money you scammed us out of. You did not get a permit and you did not complete the project. In fact the work that was done, except for the tile installation that ****** did, was terrible and I have pictures to prove it. And we recently learned that you never applied for a permit. At a very generous estimate, I figure you spent about $12,000.00 on labor and $12,000.00 on material. The fact that you had to tear out the tile and replace it was your fault. You probably thought you could get away without using the underlay. I am lucky that a neighbor discovered it and told me about it. You told me: No one will know it.So if I receive your certified check for $40,000.00 before May 1. 2023, I will call it even and will not give you the review you deserve. You know that it should be double that but the time and cost for litigation could be precluded if you comply with my generous offer.***************************

******************************************* Copy the link above to your browser, I have all photos and videos in ****** photos. The Album is titled: Master Bathroom Remodel Apex Tile and Grout. Please let me know if you have issues accessing the link. Also, please look at the Album: Master Bathroom Remodel AGAIN by ************, this album shows how the work SHOULD have been done, showing the concrete board with mudding and water sealant, and how to level the shower floor. I can upload pictures if the link does not work but the videos give a better picture of the unskilled craftsmanship. I have also uploaded documentation of times/dates giving a better more detailed explanation of what transpired. In addition to all the text messages between *** (owner of Apex) and my husband *****. As you read through the text message, *** makes a point of saying he will finish the remodel because of the poor work done by his employee *****, however, *** did not do any of the work, he just kept bringing ******************* in.

The company owned and run by Leo S. started work on 8/17/2021. The work was never completed and Leo S. has been paid in full in the total amount of $3249.08. Leo's men started to re-tile a backsplash in my kitchen, which included a transom window. He never return to finish the job. It's two months that he ignored my calls. We had scheduled several times for him to return to finish the job, each time he rescheduled minutes before or just didn't show up to my house. He gave a number of excuses and told me our schedules just don't sync because "I work too much." I now have not heard from him in over a month. My calls and texts have not been returned. I've had 2 other contractors give me estimates on completing Leo's work. Both said they have to repair some of what Leo already did first, then they can finish what he started. The new work will cost $1300 on top of what I already paid. S. cashed my check within an hour. I am a single mother with 2 jobs who he took advantage of

Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2021/11/09) */ I would like to add to my complaint that I complained to the Growth Management Department Operations and Regulatory Management Division of Collier County. A licensed compliance officer came to my house and saw the unfinished work. The Licensed Compliance Officer brought Mr. Leo S. in for questioning. Mr. Leo S. received a $1000 fine for not being licensed in Collier County for doing tile. He was also given another $1000 fine for building out a wall in my home. He was not licensed to do that as well in Collier County.
