Signed contract to purchase a condo in ******, closing set for 8/6/21. Contacted G&P for homeowners insurance, I was invoiced/credit card charged 8/2/21, prior to owning the unit. Seller kept pushing closing back to point of us filing a lawsuit. After approx. 10 months of these delays, I had called your office and spoke to a young man about the situation and possible refund. "I'll have someone call you, you should qualify for a refund." was the response. No return call, I believe I had called again within a month. Got a renewal invoice soon after, but why pay for another year for a condo I don't own? Finally closed on the unit 8/13/23. My wife contacted G&P by phone and email and was told the claim was denied. Called ************************** and was told due to the timeframe and cancellation for non payment (of the condo I didn't own) there wouldn't be a refund. I'm only looking for a refund of monies paid. I prefer not to escalate this to to the ******* Insurance Board (for being billed for a property I didn't own) if it can be resolved quickly. ****** Insurance ** has agreed to backdate the cancellation and refund the premium of $1459.48 to *************************************** ********** had sent a cancel form to sign to ******************** via Adobe on 9/2/21 that was not signed. We now have the signed form and ****** Insurance ** made an exception to back date beyond their normal guidelines. ******************** should receive the check within ten business days.
