Benoit management to over the lease where I reside. They sent me a notice of intention to impose claim on security deposit dates 8/26/22. They have a total of $1275(deposit). They are deducting $810 in "damages". They describe the damages as wall damage and full repaint, broken handle on microwave, seized garbage disposal, carpet needed to replaced and broken blinds. In Jan 2021 I spoke to ***** and ****** and emailed them on 1/26/21. She said if I had dated pictures and email then I would not be held responsible. This included the paint issues. I also put in the detailed request under tenant portal (maintenance) which was never completed or addressed. I also explained that the former maintenance guy of old management **** or ***** who was later fired had detailed all these issues, including ******* and ********* (both from former management, ******* Real state connection/** skyline management). The terrible paint job was never addressed (pictures included). I believe it an unfair business practice to try to charge me the full price of the new paint job when it was already partially and poorly done. In regards to the broken a blinds, we purchased those blinds and explained to Remy (owner of former property management). In regards to the seized garbage disposal, this was working exactly the same when we left. My husband *********************************** (****) was ******'s handyman (former owner of multiple units at ********************. We are very well aware of the faulty conditions of the garage disposal as it was a common practice to move an old garbage disposal on an empty unit to a occupied. Its acceptable to charge half the paint job. They very well aware of all issues and just refused to address it. Even right before we left we explained to them of our relationship to the previous owner, condition of the condo and they never replied. Please charge half for the paint job, remove the blinds and the garbage disposal. Request only $400 be withheld not $810.
