3/28/24 Signed a contract with DC Roofing FL to replace my roof which consists of a flat roof and a peaked roof. The crew started on my roof on 4/5/24. I gave half of total price down as a deposit. They finished the first portion of the flat roof. He stated he is waiting for the inspector from ********** to come.Got his text that he dropped off the shingles at our home on 4/17/24. Texted him 4/17 asking about finishing the roof. No return contact from him. We called the Lee ************************ and was told the flat roof assembly info on the requested permit was rejected. He did not obtain the in process inspection for the flat roof. Now he needs an engineer to inspect the roof and sign off on it. He has put us in a terrible situation. We kept texting and leaving phone messages. He texted back on 5/8/24. He stated he would get the engineer that Friday 5/10/24 and will resubmit on Monday 5/13/25. We heard nothing from him. We texted again on 5/15/24. We called the Permit and inspection office and they informed us that he did not resubmit yet as of 5/15/24. On 5/15/24 we texted again telling him we will call a lawyer if he does not call us. He texted back that he will call in an hour. He never did. He texted us 5/20/24 and said he will call us in an hour and again no call back. 5/21/24 we called the inspection office and spoke with ******* who reviewed the permit application. He explained the need for an engineer on letterhead verifying the roof assembly. We have texted daily and called leaving messages daily and have not heard back. He left the peaked roof without shingles and we are not sure the flat roof was done right and it is exposed to rain and future hurricanes. We are fustrated. And feel he has broken contract by working on our roof without a valid permit and getting it done in a timely manner. Let alone his la k of communication.

We ordered the skylight the client wanted and arrived at his property to install as he requested. When we arrived, he inspected the tubular skylight and questioned if they were wind rated as they were polycarbonate. We provided the *** and also the phone number to the sales rep for the skylights which he spoke ********************* at Suntek who confirmed they were impact rated. The client then changed his mind and wanted the glass tubular skylight instead of the polycarbonate. At this point the skylights were already paid for and unable to be returned. I wanted to make sure the client was happy so we ended taking the loss of the material not charging the client more and ordering the glass impact rated tubular skylight as desired. Once the new skylight arrived and was paid by DC Roofing FL the client reversed the credit card down payment he had made over the phone. At this point we were at a loss of two separate skylight systems with no payment. As such the business relationship ended. We can provide the sales receipts from our supplier showing amounts and that all was paid in full.

On Sept. 6, 2023 I formally hired ************************* of DC roofing ,I gave him 50% down payment to replace my shingle roof with metal roofing and to also install a solar powered attic fan . His crew was was at my home the second or third week of September , They removed the old shingles and prepped roof with tar paper sheathing. At the end of the day ***** told me the next 25% payment would be do once the inspection of the present work was done . He told me it could be a couple of weeks because inspections were backed up in Collier County. ..But, not to worry The job would be done by my birthday October 17th. That was the last I saw or heard from him ..I left him numerous phone messages, both mobile and home numbers, text messages and never a response. I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he was extremely busy or something had happened to him. I continued from time to time to contact him with no response. Early December I went to ******************************** ***** I then was informed by the County The ****************** never even put in the request for an inspection. I was quite upset as you can imagine. I continued to try to make contact I have never received any acknowledgement from him. It is now a new year and almost the end of January. I have no roof and ****************** is nowhere to be found. I feel he has broken our contract and has defrauded me of a large sum of money. I will have to apply for a Change of Contractor with the County and pay an exorbitant amount of money now to complete the job before hurricane season . As it stands now I have no roof protecting my house all these months. I am worried that I will not incur damage to the rest of my home with some of the rainy downpours we are having.
