  This complaint took place while I was living in my ******* home, which I just sold. The buyers inspector, came to our house and noted we had some roofing issues. We contacted R and J Roofing. The manager. ***********************, answered my call and said he would send someone out to look at our roof. Unknown to me, a company with the name if Cobra Roofing showed up. I explained our situation to them and I was told it would be taken care of. After about an hour on the roof, the climbed down and assured me the roof issues were corrected. They charged me $250 for the roofing repairs and went on their way. I waited 3 days for a receipt and pictures of what was actually done, after contacting them several times. The original inspector came back to the house to ensure we completed the appropriate repairs which we thought we did, especially after being charged $250. The inspector, climbed back onto th4 roof and discovered several more roofing tiles which we loose and/or broken. Why these weren't found before, I don't know. This delayed the sale of our home and the potential buyers, almost walked away from the sale. We had another roofing contractor come out and he found approximately $8000 worth of damages that weren't found prior by Cobra Roofing. Not only did I pay $250 for the roof not to be repaired and lied to, but it cost me an additional $4000 on the sale of my home. I have contacted Cobra Roofing and I was told I would receive a full refund of my $250, but it had been a week and I have not received anything from them and there is little to no communication. On top of that, I found out Cobra Roofing is operating a business without the proper business license, which is a felony in the ****************. I believe I should not only receive my $250 refund buy my $4000 refund for not completing the roof repairs correctly and almost costing me the sale of my home, coupled with the fact they aren't licensed as a roofing company based out of ************, **.

  In response to Mr. ******* claims: **************** contacted our company on a Friday, he was in a panic and needed his roof repaired to be able to close. We informed him that we were 3 weeks to a month out and we were also out of town for Mother's day weekend. We referred him to someone who could help him with the repair. **************** was informed he had multiple tiles that needed to be repaired as well as more work to be done. **************** only wanted the slipped tiles repaired that were mentioned on the report and did not want to wait or spend more money to fix anything else. The tiles were repaired on Saturday May 13th and he paid the repair guy directly. He was also provided a receipt by that company 1 business day later (2 weekend days later). R and J Roofing was not contracted and never set foot on Mr. ******* property nor were we paid. $250.00 is an appropriate sum to charge someone for a rush repair, on a holiday weekend. The work agreed upon was competed. It is no ones fault the roof needed far more work than **************** would agree to. In his attempt to conceal the roof damage from the buyer and trying to save money in his own pocket for personal gain, he has tried to blame everyone except for himself and his own decision making. Again R and J Roofing had nothing to do with this roof other than trying to help out a fellow neighbor in distress. ****** learned. I also have the original inspection report with correspondence he only wanted the items fixed on the list, as well as lengthy text messages with his harassment even before the roof was re-inspected if needed.

  I am rejecting this response because:

  He throws this back on me when he failed yo do his job properly. I was not in distress when I hired him to complete the roof repair. R AND j Roofing sent another unlicensed company to my house without my permission to complete the repairs to my roof. I showed ***** Roofing the inspection sheet and told them I wanted the roof repaired. It was not a holiday weekend. I was never told they were 3 weeks out and I was never told another company was going to show up. I explained to the workers what needed to be done and explained if anything else needed repairs, I needed to know. No one fixed my roof. No one showed me what was repaired. If they fixed my roof properly, the 2nd inspection would not have cost me an additional $4000. R and J Roofing did nothing to accommodate me, but threw the repair on someone else who wasn't licensed to repair roofs. I waited 4 days foe a receipt which is typically given on scene that day by most respectful companies. I have been told I would be given a full refund by both ***** Roofing and R and J Roofing but we're going on 4 weeks with no check despite them having my new address. I hope ***** Roofing and R and J Roofing and looked into more closely as neither probably have a valid license to repair roofs. I never harassed anyone. *********************** sent his son to run his mouth in my wife's class during school and my wife can attest to that. I have nothing more to say to either of them other than i want my full refund of $4250. Neither R and J Roofing or ***** Roofing are reputable roofing companies. If the repairs were done correctly the first time, I would not be complaining. Neither company wants to provide service to paying customers and its sad companies like this exist.

  Again as stated before R and J Roofing did not have any agreement or contract with ****************, we were out of town. It was Mother's day weekend which is a holiday. He was given a receipt on Monday when the work he asked to be completed was completed on Saturday, that is 2 days not 4. It is the homeowners responsibility to vet contractors and it was his responsibility to have the proper work completed to the roof but refused. Unfortunately **************** believes he is above the law and has no regard for anyone's time and believes he is entitled to something he is not. R and J Roofing never completed the work and was not the installer of the roof, therefore we hold no responsibility or liability. His wife was our child's HS teacher and she stated to our son that he is hot head and does not know how to communicate properly with others and she wished he would not text because he comes off mad. She apologized for his behavior towards his father. His own wife admitted to a 16 year old her husband was in the wrong. That speaks volumes to Mr. ******* character. We would ask BBB to please stop the facilitation of harassment by *****************
