I recently sold my home and was working with this title company. Early on, I was asked to email several documents before closing. The person I was working with failed to respond to my emails and calls confirming she received the documents. I gave up on her and called one of the owners to see if the documents were received. She assured me that she would be handling the closing from then on. That was the last time she communicated with me. I closed on the home on 12/10/21 and all fees were paid to the title company. I was in an HOA and was told the title company would take care of sending all documents to the HOA for processing. That was the last I heard from the title company. A month later, the HOA withdrew the quarterly HOA fee from my bank account. Shocked, I called the HOA to remind them I no longer lived in the community. They informed me that the home was still in my name. The HOA manager informed me she never received the closing documents from the title company. I contacted the title company and asked why they didn't submit the closing documents at time of closing. I was told it was mailed on 12/10/21. I asked if any follow up was done to verify the documents were received. Apparently, this company doesn't use any tracking services nor do they call to verify the package is received. I was really surprised by this news. The same person who failed to confirm that my documents were received was now helping me resubmit the closing documents. Rather than handle this herself, she emailed copies to my realtor and asked him to give them to the HOA manager. Unbelievable! I called the owner after learning this and she told me it was all being taken care of. She was very curt with me and acted like I was inconveniencing her. After several weeks of waiting for the title company to take responsibility and finish the closing, a 2nd HOA company handled the closing. It took over 2 1/2 months, to finally close. I asked the company for a partial refund due.
