Originally received a letter from AssetFinders on 8/16/22 from ******************* indicating I might be due funds associated with my dad (********************************) who had lived at ******************************************** ** had a 14 min conversation on 8/17. **** indicated she would need death certificate and documents signed which I received on 9/2/2022 and mailed back later that day. I followed up with **** and she had received all of my documents by 9/22/2022 and indicated we were good to go. The amount of funds were to be $2,470.41 from Lee County Clerk of the Circuit Court. and after Assets finders admin fee.. my check would be in the amount of $2,099.85. and Rose indicate I should receive check within 30 - 60 days which would be 10/16/22. I left Rose a voice mail on 10/22/2022 asking when the check might be cut or when I would receive it.I never heard nothing back from Assetfinders or from Rose. I have made several phone calls and left several voice-mails which I have not heard anything more.The ID number associated with this is AF -33487.I want to file a complaint with BBB and see what my steps are and if you are able to contach Lee County Clerk of the Circuit Court to see why they have not sent me any funds. But i would think the funds should come fromASSETFINDERSBusiness response

Good afternoon,We have spoken with **************** on several occasions. We mailed him the revised Agreement per the State's Statute and 2 applications for the death certificates for his parents to obtain from TN. We received his revised executed Agreement and he submitted the applications to TN and will mail us the death certificates once received.I will continue to keep you updated.Thank you, ****Initial Complaint

In May of 2023 Rose with asset finders contacted me with a phone call or a letter should I say I'm sorry sent to my brother who lived in ******* they contacted me I read the letter I called Rose at asset finders let her know that I received the letter what can I help her with we confirmed that it owned the home I gave her all the proof information she asked for like my personal information social security name date address things that you just don't give someone Did she email me said okay we received your letter on May 6th it'll take 30 to 60 days for us to get back with you and let you know what's going on now mind you they contacted me I did not contact them but they got me thinking that I have money coming and now I haven't heard of word nobody's answering my emails nobody's answering my calls I call repeatedly nothing at all and really all I want to know is are they going to get me money or am I not going to get money simple as that answer the question tell me yes or no provide me with some information since you hunted me downBusiness response

My brother (****************************), sister (*********************) and I have been working with **** for the better part of a year to reclaim our deceased father's (*****************************) $3,613.97, that went dormant in his *********************** account, Inquiry ********** and are being held by the ****************. We contracted with *******************, owner, *****************************************, and she said it would take a couple months in 2022.She's been unresponsive. We'd like our proceeds and for her to take her cut, 10% for her efforts (and which we agreed to).Thank you,***Business response

I emailed yesterday afternoon ************** on 7/11/2023 regarding the request for further information by the ****************. I asked ************** if he or one of his siblings had a copy of the Last Will & Testament for their father. In an email this morning, 7/12/2023, ************** responded that he is checking with his sister for a copy of the Will. I also called the Fulton County, ******* Probate ************** to obtain a copy as well. I have not heard back from the Clerk as of today.I will respond to **************' email and attach the Estate Affidavit and Verification to he and his sibling to complete and return to me so I can submit it to the State for processing. When I initially spoke with ****, I clarified with her that she would contact and work through any issues with the **************** and/or Fulton County (**) Probate Clerk on our behalf as part of her services (that were included in her share of the recovered dollars that the State was holding on behalf of our deceased father). She said yes, and that wed each need to provide a signed (original ink) contract (for each of the siblings) along with copies of our government-issued ID, and an embossed/notarized death certificate. We did so and that took a while. Those documents were provided to her in 2022.
Despite the recent follow-up (attached) on Roses part, its unclear whether she has contacted the **************** and/or Fulton County, ** Probate Clerk (which should have taken place last year). She says she has but I havent seen any indication that has occurred (other than her attestation). Thats not to say she hasnt contacted these parties.
In any case, she should have contacted them last year.
So, I would like to consider this unresolved until we hear back from **************** or Probate Clerk with a disposition.
1) Did you check with your sister for a copy of the will? Did you relay to Rose whether or not she had it? I explained that my fathers will was unlikely and that my sister may have a copy in her attic. I expressed that I wanted her to proceed with the process through the Fulton County Probate Clerk.
2) Did Rose send you an email with the Estate Affidavit and Verification, if so, did you and your siblings complete it and was it returned to Rose? Approximately when was it returned? Those were returned in 2022.
3) Have you heard anything since the July 11th email? Yes, see attached.

******************* contacted me and my ex-husband 2 years ago to tell us we had money available to us from a closed mortgage. She asked for all of our personal information, we sent it, and she promised to keep me updated on the progress of the case. She was good about it for about ****************************************** with any information. I have called and left over 20 messages at the business number and have received NOTHING in return from Rose or her associates. I have no idea where the money is, if we are still entitled to it, or what has been done with our personal information. 2 years is long enough to wait to file this complaint.Business response

This in response to the concern raised by ************************ We are a licensed ******* Private Investigative Firm that specializes in the recovery of money from the **************** **************************** Our offices had discussed the possibility of a recover of some money that was owed to ********** from the ****************.
After being authorized by ********** to assist in the recovery we discovered there was another name on the record. In discussing with ********** she did not recognize the additional name on the record.
We have discovered that the additional name on the record is that of a Chapter 13 Trustee. We have informed Ms. Fox of this fact and are trying to work with the **************** and the Chapter 13 Trustee to determine if ********** can recover the money. We are awaiting their response.
In discussing this issue with ********** we understand that this was a simple miscommunication and the matter has been resolved.Customer response

Dear ************************ follow-up to Mr. *** inquiry, please note that we are a private company registered with the ******* **************************** that assists individuals, estates and corporations in the recovery of ******* Unclaimed property. Please note that the funds are held by the ******* *************************** and not our offices.
After receiving back documentation from Mr. * allowing us to proceed with the recovery from the ******* **************************** we discovered that the relationships between the parties involved where not what we originally understood them to be, which complicates the recovery process. The ******* *************************** requires all claimants to demonstrate their entitlement either by their familiar relationship or with additional documentation such as *****, trusts, or probates. We have been unable to get feedback from Mr. * to clarify his specific entitlement to the funds in question as he is unavailable for direct communication.
We stand ready to further explain or assist in this recovery. We would also be willing to release the claim initiated on Mr. *** behalf for him to pursue it directly if he so chooses as well.
