      I was a resident here at Sawgrass Creek from 20-22. I had moved away for 9 months, with intentions of coming back to Sawgrass. As I made it back April 2023, they are under new management. Throughout the application process, I had spoken with employees the entire time to make sure I was getting everything in as I needed to come back. I inputted my bank information for the application and administrative fee, the fee showed pending and for some reason never came out. I did not notice it didn’t come out as I was awarded my new lease to sign. Both sawgrass (employee name on my lease is no longer employed here) and I sign the lease. I go to pay my second month of rent and there are some additional fees that I’m not sure why they are there. I go into the office and meet with an employee, who is no longer there but I have dealt with since I was here in 2020. She told me to not worry about those fees as she will get them taken care of seeing as how if the application fee never came out I should not have been awarded the apartment. The next month comes and the fees are still not taken care of and now there are late charges attached to it. I go back to the office to pay rent and turns out that employee is not there anymore, I have to restart this process/conversation all over again with a new employee. I’m told yet again, to not pay those fees so it can be looked into. Customer service at this point is non existent as I had tried to call/email multiple times for updates and nothing was returned. July payment comes, I go into the office to pay as I’m not paying the additional fees as it is a mistake on sawgrass part. I was told they would be waived. Now I am being told they are not being waived and I’m responsible for their mistake. I am a student working 2 full time jobs to be able to successfully live here. I have requested to speak to the regional manager and it’s being avoided, the treatment of residents has plummeted since the new management has taken over.

      I just opened up the last letter from you guys and wanted to let you know I have heard back from the company in regards to my complaint. They decided to take care of it after waiting to hear back from you.

      The date of this transaction is 02/01/2021. I gave Victoria M. $1,600.00 for deposit, application fee, & first month's rent. Although I understand the application fee is non-refundable, I am entitled to the rest of my money. After following up with Victoria M. on numerous occasions regarding the vacancy status she informed me that they were still at full capacity with no vacancies & that she would wait-list me after asking me to give an apartment that became available to someone that was in need she was speaking with on her phone. Following this occurrence there were no vacancies and every time I called to get my money back, she stated it was non-refundable. In addition to this she also violated my personal rights by discussing my affairs in detail with outside personnel of which I explicitly requested her not to. Due to this occurrence, these personnel are slandering me and my character from unwarranted information provided to them via Ms. M.. She offered half of my money back in the amount of $800.00 but that is not good enough for the **** I have gone through with them & this issue she created for me this past year. I am entitled to a FULL REFUND and will accept nothing less especially for her breech where my personal information is concerned. I am still being harassed by this person for information that she should not have disclosed to a nosey busy body after I forewarned her about it in the beginning. I explicitly told her that this person will call for information, have other people call, & pretend to be me (by any means necessary) to get information & to not under any circumstances disclose any of my information & she violated that. This was unwarranted & unprofessional & I am utterly & thoroughly disgusted. I just want my FULL REFUND so I can be done with this entire situation. Thank you for your time & efforts.

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/17) */ To whom it may concern I am providing a response in reference to ******* ******** inquiry. Ms. ****** came in to the leasing office on 1/20/2021 and applied for apartment home 5-214. MS. ******* paid a security deposit of $1040.00, to hold the apartment home. On the day of move-in 2/16/2021 I could not get in touch with MS *******. I finally spoke to her and she stated she was going to have to wait to move in as she had to have emergency surgery. She stated she could not afford to move in at this time. She asked me if the deposit was refundable and I informed her that unfortunately not after 24hours. ******* asked would she be able to go on a wait list to see what her outcome would be after surgery. She was placed on the wait list. I contacted Ms. ******* again on March 9, 2021, to inform her we had an apartment home available if she was interested, she said no she is still trying to recover and save money. Ms. ****** makes allegations that I shared her personal information. I Victoria M******* have never spoken to anyone in regards to ******* *******'s personal information. ******* called again on 1/10/22 (almost a year later) as I spoke to her and she asked if her deposit could be refunded, I advised her I would have to see as we do not normally refund deposits. I called ******* back and advised her we would refund $800.00. She gave me her forwarding address and advise she had moved into a new place. I never once had a toxic phone call or conversation in-person with *******. Pleases find attached the application as Sawgrass Creek guidelines are after 24hours the security deposit is nonrefundable. This transaction occurred 1 year ago. Please do not hesitate to reach me if you have any further questions. Thank you
