Olaf was contracted by LG to fix my fridge. On 9/23/2021. They told me i had to buy a surge protector for my fridge for LG to honor my warranty. I paid $61.86 and they installed it for me. Needless to say there were other issues with my fridge and LG had sent out actual LG personnel to resolve. The LG rep said that I'm not supposed to be using a surge protector with the fridge and apparently Olaf was scamming people by lying. I contacted Olaf to return it and they told me they wouldn't accept a return because the package was open, but their technician opened the package and installed it. That lady that answered the phone was super rude and hung up on me. I have a $60 item that I can't use. LG has now cut ties with this company. I would like to return the item for a refund since I have no use for it and the technician lied to me about needing to purchase it. LG mentioned that they had done this to other customers as well. The attached receipt has a different address and there are multiple phone numbers too. Also, the invoice shows $60, but I was charged $61.86.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/14) */ Customer purchased a surge protector at his own will. Cost of surge protector was $60.00 plus $1.86 for credit card processing. Customer had a choice to pay with cash, check, or credit card. If paid with credit card he would be charged the credit card processing fee. In addition, customer was aware that if the surge protector was open and installed this is a non-refundable item. A week after the repair was completed customer called stating he wanted his money back because he found item cheaper. Receipt was signed by customer. AC & HEATING OLAF SERVICE INC is here to serve it's customers. Refrigerator Surge Protector is not covered by no warranty. This is an item that is up to the customer to purchase. LG or any other Manufacturers do not provide surge protector as a warranty. The technician lied to me and told me that i had to buy the surge protector to keep my warranty with LG. I thought this was true because LG contracted them. It wasn't until an LG employee came out to fix my fridge again since Olaf services didnt resolve the issue that i was told that i am not even supposed to be using a surge protector with this type of fridge. The LG employee mentioned that Olaf had scammed other customers into purchasing them too and as a result LG doesn't use Olaf anymore. When i called i never mentioned finding it cheaper and all i asked was to return the item for a refund. To this date that is all i want. I still have the item and just want to return it because it was sold to me under false pretenses. I was not told there was no returns when i purchased the item and at first i was going to use it until LG advised me not to use it because it can cause issues with my type of fridge since the surge protector has a delay on it. For the record i did not call a week later for a refund. I called a week later because Olaf did not fix the issue on 9/23. When i called olaf on 9/30 I was advised to contact LG to schedule a new visit. LG came out on 10/28 to service my fridge and advised me at that time to not use the surge protector. I called Olaf on 10/28 asking to return the item after the LG representative left my home. The surge protector was purchased a month before on 9/23.
