We've been ***** customer for years. In March 2023 we sent a request to *** to increase our policies based on the document we had from a company we were seeking to get work from.*** sold us one more policy, but they most likely didn't read all the requirements we sent them, and the policy they sold us wasn't enough to meet all the requirements needed.After several emails back and forth we had to shop with another agent for additional insurance to meet all the requirements we need.We then requested for that new policy to be canceled.We received a partial refund on the policy from *** but a full refund should be fair because we wouldn't have bought this policy if they had told us they couldn't meet all the requirements.At this time we are only seeking a full refund and we aren't worried about the business we lost.Business response

The insurance we provided was accepted by the company they were seeking to get work from. The issue was that that company also wanted a copy of his personal homeowners policy which is provided by another agent so we had no control over that. See emails attached. Thanks ***************

Contractor General Liability Insurance protects contractors financially from amounts they become obligated to pay due to damages or medical payments because of bodily injury, property damage or personal/advertising injury to third parties occurring during the policy period caused by or relating to the contractor's work .
Personal liability is a coverage included on your home/condo/renters policy which provides reimbursement related to the injury of others, or the damage of others' property. If someone is injured on your property and sues you for liability, personal liability covers medical expenses and any legal fees/settlements.

I am rejecting this response because:Requirements on what we needed were clear. (See "INSURANCE" attachment)
2 of the employees never mentioin anything about "homeowners policy" which we don't have.
And they sold us just part of what we needed.

Its clear from our written communications provided that we informed the insured that the policies we provided met all the requirements placed upon his business for this job. We then notified him in writing that they were requiring a personal homeowners policy which we don't provide and that he would need to contact his personal insurance agent to comply as we don't offer any personal insurance, just business insurance. I am rejecting this response because:Look at the email below that was sent to me. Where does it say I needed additional insurance?
It says I need Umbrella, additional things on pollution and than the last ***** "You have all the other
requirements they are requesting.""After reviewing the requirements, I am seeing that you are going to need an umbrella policy. Also, we need to
find out the cost for the pollution policy as to how much the additional insured and waiver of subrogation will
cost. I have talked to your account manager *******, and she will work on getting you a quote for an umbrella
policy and finding out the cost for the endorsements for your pollution policy. You have all the other
requirements they are requesting.
