Date of transaction was between March 15-March 21, 2024. Contractor, ***** ***, asked for $800 up front for materials and then realized I needed more based off measurements and added another $500. He promised to wrap poles and has texted me false commitments of when he would come to finish the job for about 2 months now. The false commitments include him saying "I will finish you up by the end of the week" at least 5 times and I have yet to see a hair on his head on my property. Not sure if he even purchased the materials. I have asked for refunds multiple times and he refuses to acknowledge. It has been a while since I have heard anything and has completely ghosted me at this point. No one from the business has tried to contact me to resolve this problem. Found 2 other women in the same neighborhood as me that have also had money taken from ***** *** as well. Long story short, I have filed a police report and hope to get my money back along with the other women and whoever else out there that might have been victims of this contractor.Initial Complaint

On 02-21-2024 my Fiance, ***********************, gave ********************* ***, a check for $5,000 to purchase soffit and to also do gutters for our house that were damaged from Hurricane ***. ****** did not have ***** write up a contract due to ***** and ****** being friends for over 30 years. ***** immediately cashed the check then when asked when he would be out to get the work done, he constantly made excuses and many lies about not having the material, or wrong material was delivered, then he told us the material would be delivered to our house on a certain date and never was delivered. ******** lies. We told him at the end of March, to just give us our money back and we would find someone else to do this project. I called *** Construction and was told ***** never did place an order for our supplies. He did however, go on vacation with his girlfriend within 2 days of cashing out check. We are still waiting to get our money and of course when he does actually reply to our text, he always says I need several more weeks. We have all the text messages going back and forth between ***** and ****** regarding the work that was going to be done. Like I said in the beginning, we did not have a contract drawn up due to them being friends for so many years. We didn't feel the need for a contract but also didn't think we would be screwed out of our money either. Hard ****** to learn.Initial Complaint

In Early October 2022 we contracted for ***** ***, owner of PCM Home repair to replace our ************ and repair screens in the back of our home . ***** *** took a $ ****** deposit representing 50% of the cost of this job, as a required deposit to ensure he would be able to accomplish the work within 6 weeks. 7weeks later, we contacted ***** after weeks of no contact and calls not returned, he explained that he was behind and would need two additional weeeks, this was now the 21st of November. We did not here back from *************** December 27th, after weeks of calling and textin and no replies. He texted us apoligizing and saying he was now sick, and would be at our homw to complete the work before the 5th of January, 2023. We have not heard from ***** *** since, we have called, texted ,and sent a registered letter to his buisness demanding return of our deposit. all with no reply. We are considering our legal options but want to see if you can help us get our money back and ensure this business is ***** acconntable for it's lack of performance and illegal activity or collecting deposits and not doing any of the work. I have copies of texts a contract canceled ckeck and a copy of the letter we sent demanding a return of our $******. Please let us know what can be done.
