We signed a contract to have a metal roof installed on November 21,2022 and was told it would take 6-8 weeks to receive the roof. It is now 7 months later and still no roof with hurricane season back. I cant get any answers of when the metal will be delivered. In April I was told by the end of May,, it is now the middle of June. My husband asked about changing our order from metal to shingles and they said it would take months to get a new permit, however I called the ****************** this morning and they said they can put on the shingles after inspection of the dry in and just revise the permit not a whole new permit. An engineering inspection with a letter would only take a few days. Please help. I need a roof. We already paid 2/3 of the roof.Business response

We had serious hurricane damages in our house at ***************************************************************************** which resulted in it being unlivable. The roof over the bathroom and bedroom had a large hole in it and needs to be repaired. The ceilings and walls had fallen down in those rooms from the rain. We first contacted ******************** on 11/4/22 to request a bid on fixing our roof and replacing all the shingles. I called them back each week to see if the bid was done. It was completed and sent to us on 11-26-22 and it was $11,200. They rewrote the contract for $12,420 on 12-5-23. The salesman *******************, told us we had to pay down 1/3 of the contract to hold our place in line, then 1/3 when the work started and 1/3 when it was completed. ** explained that it would be **** weeks before the work would be done, but it could be sooner depending upon how the other jobs went. At the time, I told ** that our ability to get the house restored was dependent upon the roof being completed first. We signed the contract on 12/9/22. On 12/12/22 we paid $4,140 to DR ******************** to initiate the process of getting our roof fixed. Since 8 weeks from the signing of the contract was on 2-4-23, I called to check on the status of our roof. She said that getting permits and supplies was delaying the job. But she said it would be near the end of the month (February). I called every week in February to check on the status of our job. Each time I was given excuses for the delays. None of the interior can be restored until the roof is repaired. If we tried to get another roofer to do the job then we would lose our $4,140. Ten weeks passed on 2-18-23, 12 weeks on March 4. When I last talked to the office, ****** told me it would be the end of April or May (which is 25 1/2 weeks) before they would do the job. This is not acceptable to us. We have an entire house to restore and are being held hostage by this company who will not fix our roof in a reasonable time frame. They refuse to take our situation seriously.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Mr. ******************** responded very quickly and apologized for the delay. He sent out a roofing crew the very next day and has been working on our roof to repair it so we can get inside to start reconstructing the house to make it livable. We truly appreciate his quick response and actions.
Sincerely,
******** And *****************************
