    Pattern of Complaint

    BBB files contain a pattern of complaints from consumers which allege billing issues.  Specifically, consumers report unknowingly being charged a monthly subscription fee after using the website during the trial period. In addition, several consumers report being charged this monthly subscription fee prior to the end of the 3-day trial period.

    On April 9, 2024, BBB sent correspondence to EpicVin requesting their voluntary cooperation in providing steps it will implement to eliminate the pattern of customer complaints.

    On April 16, 2024, EpicVin responded to the BBB with the following:

    "We appreciate your recent communication regarding the pattern of complaints filed against EpicVIN, specifically related to billing issues. As a company committed to transparency and customer satisfaction, we want to assure you that we have taken proactive steps to address these concerns and ensure clarity regarding our subscription terms.

     

    This is what we have done to make the subscription terms as transparent as possible:

    • Additional Terms in Order Summary: We have added detailed terms related to the subscription to the order summary section on our website. A screenshot of the updated order summary is attached for your reference.

    • Prominent Display of Subscription Terms: Previously, the subscription terms were located at the bottom of the page, making them less visible to users. We have now placed the terms prominently below the payment button on our website, ensuring that users have easy access to this information before completing their purchase. Attached are screenshots comparing the previous and current versions of the page for your review.

    • Order Confirmation Emails: In addition to displaying the terms on our website, we send order confirmation emails to customers for all transactions conducted with us. These emails contain detailed information about the subscription, including the trial period duration, conversion to a monthly subscription, and cancellation instructions.

    We believe that these measures have significantly improved the clarity and transparency of our subscription model, addressing the concerns raised by customers and BBB. We remain committed to providing a positive experience for our customers and ensuring that they are fully informed about our services and terms."

     

     

    On July 18, 2024, BBB reviewed the latest complaints on file and the pattern continues.

    BBB will continue to monitor and update the company's report as needed.

    On April 9, 2024, BBB completed an investigation into this business.  The investigation determined:

    BBB files contain submissions from consumers reporting that they were charged for a monthly subscription they did not agree to after using the website.  The business’ website, epicvin.com does reference this monthly subscription on the payment page and in the terms of service. 

    BBB recommends thoroughly researching a company and familiarizing yourself with the terms of service before purchasing a product or using a web service.

    No Sunbiz listing could be found for the business.  In addition, the names of the business principals were not found.

    On April 9, 2024, BBB sent correspondence to EpicVin.com requesting their voluntary cooperation in providing additional information about the business.  We are awaiting their response.
