We purchased a 3-year inspection and maintenance contract for 3 A/C yearly services on 11/14/2022 for a price of $225. The service technician performed the first service on 11/14/2022. We have been calling and leaving voice messages for scheduling the 2nd service for the past 3 months. They never return our calls. We have called 3 times per week from 11/15/23 - 2/23/24. We've left messages for "service" and for "emergencies" (those are the 2 options when getting their voice mail). We would like a refund of the purchase amount minus the first service.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: We were contacted and told they could not provide a refund. They offered to perform a service call, however, we are not available (gone for the summer). We would prefer a refund.
Sincerely,

3/27/22 battery failure in thermostat caused A/C shut down. I called Martin Air, our service provider. The tech arrived 3/29 and diagnosed the problem as a evap. coil leak, provided an estimate for unit replacement. (Homeowner is disabled and unable to accompany the tech to the unit resulting in requiring reliance upon the tech's integrity.) I asked the tech to recharge the unit in order to give me time to acquire competing estimates (tech refilled system knowing this). Tech went back outside and returned stating that recharge required four and one half pounds of 422D refrigerant at $100 per pound. 3/31 Tri County tech tested the system for leaks and could find none. Stated that unit would hold less than five pounds of refrigerant. 4/1 Mr. ** ****** of ****** *** also tested unit and stated that no leak could be found and the unit could hold only 4.8 pounds of refrigerant. While none of the above gentlemen would outright denigrate M/A or the tech that performed the show I had witnessed they made it abundantly clear that my A/C unit was working fine, that four and one half pounds of refrigerant could not possibly have been put into the unit if it was working well prior to the battery issue and there were no leaks in the system. It should be noted that when homeowner made known his intent to acquire competing bids the M/A tech became very insistent stating and restating that a decision must be made quickly as prices are rising every day. I was also advised by both other techs that had I waited for approximately 5 to ten minutes after installing the batteries into the thermostat the A/C unit would have started. When the unit did not start immediately I assumed that something was wrong and took unit off line at the breaker panel as well as the thermostat. It should also be noted that prior to battery failure the unit was working well. Final:$552. Would like to recoup labor and refrigerant portion of bill which amounts to$480.Business response
