      I PURCHASED A BRAND-NEW TOWNHOME AND WAS ASVISED THAT ****** SHUTTERS INSTALLED OUR HURRICAN **** FOR THE ALUMIUMN SHUTTERS. IN NOVEMBER 2022 WITH THE LAST HURRICANE, MYSELF AND NEIGHBORS RELAIZED WE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ***** ON MOST OF THE WINDOWS THE **** ARE NOT LONG ENOUGH TO PUT THE **** NUT ON ONCE YOU PUT THE SHUTTERS ON. THERE WAS A FEW NEIGHBORS WHO HAD THEIR WINDOWS BREAK WHILE DOING THIS AND THE **** AND CONTRACTOR WERE INFORMED. THERE WERE EMAIS FROM THE BOTH OF THEM TO ADVISE IF YOU NEEDED YOUR **** CHANGED THEN RESPOND TO THE ****** WHICH I DID. NO ONE HAS CHANGED THEM OUT YET. I CONTACTED THE *** (SENTRY MANAGEMENT), WHO ADVISED THAT IT WAS A CONTRACTOR ISSUE. I CONTACTED THE CONTRACTOR **************************, WHO THEN ADVISED ME TO CONTACT ****** SHUTTERS. I CONTACTED THEM OVER A WEEK AGO AND LEFT TWO MESSAGES, I WAS ADVISED THAT "******************* CALL ME BACK. NOTHING FROM THEM YET! I EVEN SUBMITTED A SERVICE REQUEST. THESE ARE BRAND NEW TOWNHOMES; THIS OPTION CAME WITH TH PURCHES OF THE HOME. THIS IS NOT MY RERSPONIBILTY, THE CONTRACTORS NEED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT! IT IS A SHAME THAT I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS, FIX THE PROBLEM THAT YOU CREATED. THANK YOU

      window and shutter installation contract date - 5/1/2022 project cost - $33,139 Issues - windows and shutters were misrepresented by sales person - **************************Wrong screen bolts were installed by subcontractor - A.J..Window safety stops have failed ***** city inspection twice.After many contacts, including photos and texts over many months, issues have not been resolved and the current permit expires 1/8/2023

      ****** Jansen met with the homeowner ********************* Thursday December 29th and reviewed the following items that the company will fix. 

      1. Screens are in backwards would like the brown label removed from the frame.

      2. All grommet screen openings w/ panel mates removed and we will install concrete caulk in anchors.

      3. ********* & buckle screens remove the leg bolts and use 38'' drop in anchor w/ stainless steel screws.

      4. Supply 5 beige 3/8'' plastic screws for the front entry.  We will give these to the owner and not install.

      5. Use a reverse F track on the window sill with 2F below the window. 

      6. The 2nd floor we will replace 4 single hung windows with child safety locks. 

      7. the 1st floor 4 of the single hung windows are missing the **** label, we will get replacement labels.  The 2nd floor is missing 1 picture window **** label, we will get a replacement label.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Update -  I was contacted by Jansen Shutters.  We are scheduled for reinstallation of screen bolts this Friday Jan.20.  New windows are expected by mid-February.

      I moved into a home on June 3, 2022. Jansen was the installer on a large fish bowl (picture window). Immediately the poor workmanship was apparent. The trim was crooked and not installed in the correct manner, there was scratches and miscolored caulking, and the weatherstripping was sticking out. Over the last 5 months, Jansen has made appointments to fix these problems as they are under warranty, and then no-showed. They have cause financial and employment problems because we allocate time to be at the house, we confirm by text and phone that they are coming, and they don't show. We have to call them and they are unprofessional, nasty, and show no care that we waited. They know they do a poor job of installation and don't want to fix their mistakes, so they assume we will grow fed up and go elsewhere. We will not give up until they fix their costly mistakes. There is no excuse for 3 no-shows and not calling and telling a person waiting for their repair people.

      Please note, we do not have record of installing this window on your property.  You should contact your home builder and ask your builder who did the installation, as Jansen Shutters & Specialties has no records of this installation.  Also, we not install windows on new construction, normally it is remodel or replacement windows.   

      Also, we would appreciate you removing the negative Facebook review you have posted and this claim once you speak to your builder.

      Signed a contract and paid $1299. deposit for one window and one Bahama shutter May 2021. Five months later, October ********************************************************************************* leaking around the window. Another five months later, March 2022 second installation date for reordered window and it and was nearly 1.5 inches too short resulting in leaking around the window. Project manager assured me management would be notified and a correctly measured window would be ordered and installed as soon as possible, with ********** shutter installed shortly thereafter. July 2022, I contacted Jansen and discovered a new window had NOT been ordered. September 2022, Jansen sent their best installer to fix the problem by reinstalling the original improperly measured window. October 2022 there is leaking around the window and cracked caulking on the outside.

      Our manager stopped by and conducted a site visit today; at this time, the following pictures were taken.  ********************* was not home, so our manager will follow up with her with a phone call.  Our manager did not see any large cracks around the exterior of the window at the time of the visit today.  We will need access inside her home to reseal any minor crack that maybe present.  The new leak appeared at the exact time of Hurricane *** with strong wind speeds and gust in this area.  We can patch and reseal this window.  At this time, we would like to collect the remaining balance and close out this job.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I ask that Jansen management refer back to a more detailed timeline (attached) that was emailed to the attention of ****** and ****** on October 10, 2022 prior to my BBB complaint. 
      In reading Jansens BBB response, can I expect leaking around the window every hurricane or rainy day when the patching and resealing fails again? 
      Please see photo attached where there was leaking prior to Hurricane *** (and many other times when the previous ill-fitting window was installed). 
      Please also see the attached photos showing the current window installed by *****. It is clear that even with buck strips added, the window does not fit properly. 
      I ask that Jansen refer again back to the more detailed timeline regarding the ongoing issues and consider whether the response I received from Jansens accounting department addresses my legitimate concerns. Prior to my complaint, ****** in accounting did not seem to be aware there was an open job ticket since May 2021, but only now wants to be paid in full before issues and concerns are properly addressed and long before the job is completed. I know that the Jansen office is extremely unorganized, but I will remind them the job also includes installation of ********** shutter preferably (and only) after the leaking window has been addressed. Thank you.

      The company has reorder a new window for **********************  We are expected to receive the new window 2/9/23.  Please note this is subject to change by the window manufacturer.  Also, we have extended the permit for the project.  Once the new window is installed then we will be able to install ********** shutter.  We have ********** shutter built and ready to be installed.  If you have any additional questions or concerns please let me know.
