      I reserved a scooter rental 03/22/2022 on a card through their website. When I went to pick it up I had to pay a $300 security deposit - this was agreed on when I rented. I paid the deposit in cash and then provided my card to be credited the deposit back. I waited 16 business days and called 05/09/22 they said they would call back that week. After a week 05/17/22 I called back and was again told that their boss would contact me. I called them the next day 05/18/22 where they told me cash deposits are given back in cash and not put on the card like I was originally told. They said they dont keep records of whether or not the cash deposit is given back and thus they cant give it back to me. I was told Id get the money back on the card and thats why they took the information (they took a picture of the front and back of the card).

      Hi 

      When a customer rent a ********************** we require to have a $300 deposit, cash or Authorization on a Card.

      The deposit is been return to the customer on returning of our ********************** on the spot, if a customer left a card deposit we void the Authorization, If a customer left a cash deposit we give him his cash back. We never return cash deposit via credit card, this is not how we do it.

      ****** rented a scooter from us and left a Cash deposit. when he return the scooter we gave him his cash deposit back, we never hold the cash or return this deposit on a card if it was giving as a cash deposit.

      He claims that we never gave him his cash back, which its not true. Then he called us on the phone few weeks later claiming that we never returned his cash deposit. How could you leave our shop with out your deposit? That wouldn't happen. I explained him on the phone when he called, All cash deposits are been returned to the customer on return of our ***********************.

      I am rejecting this response because: It took over a week to actually get a response back to me and that was only due to my effort in keeping contact. 

      Also they dont keep track of whether or not the cash deposits are given back so they cant say for certain if they gave me the money back. Like I said earlier when I returned the scooter and asked how we get our cash deposits back I was told it would be put on the card. Seems to me that they were aware of this policy and took advantage as it would be an easy way to pocket money from a young traveler.

      like I said on my first message, we return the security deposit to all the customers on returning of the equipment , card authorization been voided and cash deposit giving by hand in person, no other method.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      I was never given a receipt after returning the equipment. If you have on file that I received it and signed a receipt confirming I got my money back Id like to see it.

      However, when I called originally I was told it wasnt policy to give any confirmation on whether I got the money back or not.

       

      The business has no record of whether the money was returned and somehow thats now my fault. I was told on the phone that they would consider adding that policy.

       

      Unless the money was pocketed there should be an extra 300 somewhere in the books, if they even keep accounting records.
